Focus on Lyme and Aces Diagnostics Inc. has announced a breakthrough in Lyme disease diagnosis with a new test that detects the disease at all stages, including the crucial first 14 days post-infection, with over 90% accuracy. Aces Diagnostics is developing and manufacturing this test, aiming for FDA clearance to make it accessible to all patients. LymeSeek™, developed through a collaboration between Tulane University and Focus on Lyme, combines advanced biomarker research from Tulane’s Monica Embers and nine years of intensive work funded by Focus on Lyme. #Dynetherapeutics new clinical data from our ongoing Phase 1/2 ACHIEVE trial of DYNE-101 in patients with #myotonic dystrophy type 1 (DM1). Findings show that DYNE-101 continued to demonstrate a compelling impact on key disease #biomarkers, including DMPK and splicing correction, reversal of disease progression across multiple functional #endpoints, and a favorable #safety profile.

A high polygenic risk score (PRS) is associated with SSA/SSB antibody positivity and early disease onset in #Sjögren’s disease, and both are largely attributed to the weight of the #HLA alleles. In contrast, SjD negative for all of ANA, SSA/SSB antibodies shows a PRS not significantly different from healthy controls. 💡 ATP-binding cassette subfamily A member 5 (ABCA5) has protective role against progression of Parkinson's disease. 🔬 Increasing evidence indicates that lysosomal dysfunction is pivotal in the pathogenesis of Parkinson's disease, typically characterized by dysregulation of sphingolipids in lysosomes. Recent article (NPJ Parkinson's Dis. 2024; 10: 20) by Fu et al shows that in regions accumulating α-synuclein in Parkinson's disease, ABCA5 is upregulated to reduce lysosomal sphingomyelin levels potentially as a protective measure. The addition of BV421 to our portfolio allows for easy integration of MHC #Dextramer® reagents in immune profiling panels. To illustrate this, we have used MHC Dextramer® BV421 reagents as additional components in a commercial immune profiling panel to extend the analysis of surface markers with information about antigen-specificity. The panel we used was the BD Horizon™ Human T Cell Backbone Panel from BD Biosciences. We obtained detailed characterization of CMV-specific memory T cells in the blood of an individual with latent CMV infection. Read more about this study in our latest blog! At Sept 9 2024 #WCLC24 Presidential Symposium Alfredo Addeo, we report encouraging efficacy data for firmonertinib in EGFR PACC mutation NSCLC patients, at 240mg dose level, confirmed ORR of 63.8%, best ORR 82%, disease control rate (DCR) 100%.
