It was a pleasure to join the panel on enabling frameworks for the commercial #bioeconomy at the World Economic Forum. The urgency to address climate change is clear – despite global commitments, we are off track to meet the Paris Agreement's 1.5°C target. Global emissions hit record highs in 2024 and the only way to achieve our targets, is to become carbon negative.   At #Clariant, we support the vision of a net-zero, circular, and #biobased economy. Plants naturally capture CO2 and provide a renewable resource that can replace fossil carbon.   We are scaling renewable based chemicals with innovations like bio-based polyglycols for surfactants, bio-based rice bran wax additives for plastics, and bio-based active ingredients for cosmetics. These innovations showcase our commitment to accelerating defossilization in key downstream sectors.   With collaboration in our industry, we can drive meaningful change.
