"The health of our economy relies on the health of nature, but nature has been overexploited and undervalued – and is declining at an unprecedented rate. That needs to change. A true circular economy is nature-positive by design and offers a pathway to a resilient economy and better outcomes for individuals and society. By harnessing the power of nature and shifting from a resource-intensive model to one that gradually decouples economic activities from the consumption of finite resources, the circular economy can deliver benefits across sectors and help meet climate and biodiversity targets. This study focuses on Europe’s built environment and explores how a nature-positive circular economy in the sector can unlock a huge economic opportunity for the continent, increasing resilience, competitiveness and the vibrancy of its cities." https://lnkd.in/dNxNKQnC #CircularEconomy #Regenerative #Design

Is this the FIRST Regenerative Communities Fund? (that's actually funded??) Created by ECOLISE, this fund has already received €1.53 million from the European Union with 10% co-financing from ECOLISE, to create a fund of €1.7 million to directly fund regenerative community development. WOW! This is not just a fund that "could apply" to regenerative communities, but is actually named The Regenerative Communities Fund (RCF). This is huge. This could set a precedent for continued international investment in #ecovillages #sustainablecommunities and #regenerativevillages like never before. One of the trends I predicted for 2025 was that we would see more regenerative investment funds and resilience investing. Wasn't too far off then, eh? Today’s post is all about the second award we’ve been nominated for, which is ‘Driving Sustainability’. Driving Sustainability is something that has been at the heart of our business since we began. As a business we focus on saving clients money by eliminating unplanned downtime and reducing wasted energy. So to be able to calculate this properly we needed to understand as much as possible about sustainability, environmental impacts and race-to-zero strategies. So much so that we were in the pilot cohort for the Net Zero Nation Accelerator Programme. Through being part of this we have learnt so much about carbon within businesses, how to remove carbon and how looking at your sustainability approach can help the profitability of your business. We’ve now helped over 120 companies in the local area in this process, and we’re starting to make a major impact in reducing the carbon that is consumed across Ayrshire.
