2025 will be an interesting year for challenging car launch in Europe In 2011 Denza was formed as a new #Brand by BYD & Mercedes-Benz. The first products of this TeamSetup have not been very impressing and caused by this success was lagging. In 2024 Mercedes Benz stepped out of this cooperation. But the new Denza Z9 GT seems to be a complete #Gamechanger. So all the credits of success for this new model will be given to BYD. A car ahead of its time - the Porsche 959! This particular example is the Gruppe B prototype. It was shown at the 1983 Frankfurt Motor Show as a concept for the Group B Rally Championship. However, the Group B era came to an abrupt end in 1986 at following the incident at the Tour de Corse. Effective cancellation of the series. So Porsche changed its focus. The 959 Gruppe B prototype was now the stepping stone to the 959 road car we all know today. The road car itself was a technological marvel for its time. Sporty with a sequential Twin Turbo 2.8L Flat-Six making almost 450hp, mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox with a gear called Gëlande or "Terrain", as it was originally developed for rallying. The 959 also featured the formidable PSK (Porsche Steuer Kuppling) all-wheel drive system with torque splitting on the fly. All of this on the road was good for a verified 17 mph and a 0-60 of 3.7 seconds. Both were good for Guinness World Records for a production car at the time. A lesser known fact however, Porsche actually lost money on every example it built. It cost twice as much as the starting price at the time. Hence the low production. A total of 292 customer cars were completed. Although 337 were made in total, including all 37 prototypes and pre-production models.
