“HR is still a misunderstood function in terms of the value and power it can bring to a firm’s CEO and leadership,” - Paige Ross, global head of human resources at Blackstone. Paige's comments really resonate with me especially this .." It’s incumbent upon HR leaders to have the courage to show what we can do, the ability to learn what we don't know and to always think like a businessperson. The best HR leaders are businesspeople first, with an expertise in HR.” Learn more: https://lnkd.in/eSDFg_a9

Last week we hosted the Talent Acquisition Leadership Forum, it was a fantastic day sharing our experiences across Early Careers. We had 14 Talent Acquisition Leaders come together to collaborate and gain insight to key topics surrounding Early Careers. #Edrington #EarlyCareers #TalentAcquisition #CareerOpportunities #MakeaWorldofDifference
The 3rd Head Resourcing Talent Acquisition Leadership Forum was hosted in partnership with Sara Harrison from Edrington last week and what an event it was!! We had 14 Talent Acquisition Leaders at the Forum, sharing insights and experiences around ‘Early Careers’ – a really important topic for Talent Acquisition Leaders, particularly given we know that by 2025, Gen Z will account for over a quarter of our working population! Despite this only being our 3rd event, I was so encouraged by the collaboration in the room, the openness from attendees and the desire to work together on key topics 😊 Post discussion, Sara had organised a tasting session for us, hosted by Charlie Whitfield, one of their Global Brand Ambassador Programme Managers. Charlie shared lots of interesting information about The Macallan and we also had the opportunity to taste 3 delicious single malts - The Colour Collection 12 Years old, Double Cask 12 Years old and Sherry Oak 12 Years old! What a fantastic way to close the evening! A huge thank you to Sara, Charlie, Ruth Summers and Steph Sloan from Edrington for partnering with us on this session – it really was a brilliant event from start to finish. Thank you also to our wider attendees Gordon Macfarlane, Craig Kennedy, Kenny Bell, William Forrest, Andrew Lamb, John McPhail, Hannah Worledge, Will Greenwell, Dawn Jackson, Charlie Wood for taking the time our of your busy diaries to join us, for your contributions and your continued support of our Forum. #Leadership #TalentAcquisition #EarlyCareers #HeadEvents

I no longer own 100% of my business, and I couldn’t be happier. I recently gifted 10% of Steward Group to two incredibly talented and dedicated team members, Andrew Nguyen, CFA CFP® (Portfolio Manager) and Megan Rooney (Head of Business Initiatives). Andrew and Megan represent the future of this team, and I couldn’t be more excited to see them step into their leadership roles. No, I’m not retiring anytime soon, but I’m also not naive. I’m not going to live forever. For Steward Group to thrive in the years ahead, I have to empower our G2 Steward Group to take a seat at the head of the table—and Andrew and Megan are more than ready to lead. This is more than just passing the baton; it’s about making our team more diverse, more dynamic, and better equipped to serve our clients. To my fellow G1 leaders: We can’t hold onto control forever. If we want our businesses to grow and evolve, it’s time to start the transition. We need to activate the next generation, give them ownership, and let them learn by doing. Our legacy depends on their success, and it’s time we walk the talk while we still have our health. And to the G2 leaders reading this: If you’re looking for a future-forward business that understands where the industry is going, come see what we’re building at Steward Group. It’s pretty cool stuff. #Leadership #StewCrew #SuccessionPlanning #WealthManagement #FutureLeaders #PassingTheTorch #FinancialPlanning #G1toG2

A large retail client we worked with—a global leader in consumer products—came to us with a common challenge: their DEI programs, while strong on paper, were no longer resonating with their employees. They were seeing increased turnover, particularly among diverse employees, and a lack of real engagement from their teams. Leadership felt that employees were disengaged and that the organization was failing to move beyond surface-level diversity metrics. This company, like many others, struggled with disconnection. Despite years of DEI initiatives, employees continued to feel excluded or marginalized. Read on (https://lnkd.in/eN3jzphV)
