At the end of 2024, we said goodbye to an incredible member of the Clark Dietz family as Jim Miller retired after 24 years of dedicated service. Jim’s career at Clark Dietz is marked by excellence in civil engineering, serving as a trusted advisor to clients and a mentor to colleagues. Over two decades, he made a profound impact on projects, particularly his work with Parkland College, where his expertise supported their vision for more than 20 years. “Jim approached every challenge with clarity and purpose,” shared a team member. “He made complex problems seem manageable and always encouraged us to strive for excellence.” We are deeply grateful for Jim’s contributions and the relationships he built along the way. As he begins his well-deserved retirement, we wish him joy, relaxation, and time to pursue his passions. Join us in celebrating Jim’s incredible career and legacy! Recently Spotted: Clint Eastwood...nearly 94...working on a new project. His quote: "I don't let in the old critic, hostile, envious, gossiping, full of rage and complaints, of lack of courage, which denies to itself that old age can be creative, decisive, full of light and projection". Getting older is not for sissies, he said. Powerful words. As I've written before: The conventional American Dream of achieving wealth and retiring early is undergoing a rapid transformation. Contrary to expectations, those who have the financial means to retire are opting to work longer. A considerable number of highly successful individuals perceive retirement as an unnatural choice, as they view business as the ultimate pursuit and cannot fathom a life without it. Furthermore, beyond its financial benefits, research suggests that continuing to work beyond the traditional retirement age is associated with improved health and longevity. I've also written about this: https://lnkd.in/gqcy8tmP #growthmindset #creativity #clinteastwood #retirement
