Recruiting Tip - The Interview So you’ve found a good candidate for a truck driver, but what do you ask them? Ask the driver where they’ve driven. What types of routes and freight they want. Ask about their experience with types of equipment. Be specific. Don’t worry about cheesy interview tricks and traps like “What’s your greatest strength?”

Pro Tip: If you're currently employed while interviewing for new jobs, it's helpful to take a PTO day if possible when you have a job interview. This allows you to take some mental space from your job and be fully focused on the interview. You won't need to watch the clock to try to get back to work on time, which gives you one less thing to stress about and allows you to go with the flow of the interview. Plus, when the stress of the interview is over, how great is it to have some extra free time for the rest of the day to decompress? While this isn't always possible, of course, it's a great plan if you can swing it.
