Space Planning is transformational, crucial to be mulled over onsite and with drawings and so personal to each family. This is why we engage in depth with clients how they want to live, work, entertain and use their rooms; looking at the before and after image you will notice this used to be the dining area and is now a stylish cocktail entertainment zone, which gives access to the garden beyond. This lets the living room appear more spacious and allows to invest in some beatiuful statement pieces. The new dining area was moved and we will explain why that made sense ! It is Friday afternoon and we like to finish off 'work from home' so we can get an early start into the weekend and head into the common garden with a cocktail in hand! That is what our clients had in mind when we agreed to design a pretty and decorative yet comfortable WFH space into the living room, besides the tall windows which give a view of the beautiful garden outside. When you scroll through the before and after pictures of this formal reception room, I hope you will agree with us not to use another grey sofa! We had these new pieces custom made by David Seyfried and used bright, colourful fabrics . The Brief was to link the inside to outside communal gardens and bring in a fresh atmosphere. The sofas were to be very comfortable not sloppy, and not needing a lot of pumping up of cushions. The new colour scheme with walls painted in PPL Slate II is a soothing backdrop for the rich deep purple curtains and colourful fabrics. We designed a new furniture layout - opting for different scales of seating pieces to create interest and balance. Having a large and long sofa will streamline the look of the space, offering a cleaner aesthetic. The brief here was to make much better use of the long corridor space and treat it like an extra room. We proposed this space is an optimal place for an extra desk space and designed this piece of furniture with exact proportions to make the hallway look like less of a tunnel without making it look cluttered and narrower. The idea of transforming the ignored space to be a multi-functional space somewhere your kids can do homework and storage for extra clothing, accessories and display some nice decorative items. 1. Go for bespoke joinery to use the space smartly. 2. A large piece of artwork can set the tone of the space instantly. 3. Treat the hallway as an additional room. Our clients asked us to update, modernise and furnish their stunning London pied a terre in a beautiful Maida Vale terraced house.Every client gives a different briefing and we craft different solutions for each project. The brief for this hallway was to exude a tranquil and soothing ambiance, accentuated by a subtle touch of allure. Within this hallway with varying heights on both sides, we opt for a refined console to take place of a chunky shoe cabinet, imparting a sense of openness in a compact hallway. The strategic placement of a framed mirror enhances the visual perception of spaciousness, creating an illusion of airiness and expansiveness.
