We don’t need to tell you that flying privately is a time machine. You can use more convenient airports and schedule flights to leave when you want. Jet cards with guaranteed availability and fixed or capped rates are an easy way to access private aviation, as you can book your flight in minutes. Most jet cards and memberships also give you a grace period if you are late, at no additional charge. What’s more, quite a few programs allow you to upgrade or downgrade the size of your aircraft based on needs, which gets us to this article. Does it make a difference if your program guarantees an aircraft category versus a specific aircraft type? Learn more here: https://hubs.la/Q02w8FgW0

✈️ In the world of aviation, safety is paramount, but sometimes the unexpected occurs. Case in point: Alaska Airlines Flight 1282 sweeping headlines with its sudden fuselage fiesta mid-air, undeniably a scenario no one wishes to encounter at 30,000 feet! 🔍 As an NTSB investigator meticulously dissects the aircraft's abrupt introduction of additional ventilation, here are my key predictions and insights: - We may see a fresh wave of rigorous inspections specifically targeting the Boeing 737-9 MAX series. - Discussions regarding the aging aircraft infrastructure and the need for modernization could take center stage in the industry. - This incident might ripple out, increasing demand for newer, more advanced planes, equipped with the latest safety features. In times like these, the tenacity of flight crews and the importance of efficient emergency protocols become abundantly clear: - Kudos to the Alaska Airlines crew for their adept handling of the situation, ensuring passenger safety. - It's a stark reminder of the unpredictable nature of air travel and the need for continual improvement in aircraft design and maintenance. 🔧 So, what could this mean for the aviation industry? - Heightened scrutiny on aircraft maintenance. - Possible regulatory changes leaning towards more stringent safety measures. #AviationSafety #AlaskaAirlines #Boeing #NTSB #EmergencyLanding #AircraftMaintenance Have thoughts on the aviation industry's path forward or want to discuss aircraft safety in-depth? #Alaska_Airlines_Boeing737Max9 Alaska Airlines Flight 1282 had a survived a major catastrophe while the Boeing 737 Max 9 jet was in the climbing mode. The Jet is pretty new and has been in operation from October 23. The jet got depressurized at an altitude of 16300 feet and at a cruising speed of 380 knots. It was flying from Portland to Ontario, CA. Final cruising altitude requested by the Pilot was 34000' and cruising speed of 500 miles per hour. The question to Boeing is what could have happened if the depressurization had happened after the jet had climbed its desired altitude of 34000 feet and cruising speed of 500 mph? How much time will the Pilot take to bring the jet to a height of 10000 feet? The jet must have landed with full fuel capacity. Does the landing gear have sufficient factor of safety to withstand the impact of landing? https://lnkd.in/eqHBS4SV

𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐀𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐀𝐢𝐫 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐙𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝'𝐬 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲? 🚀 Air New Zealand has recently vocalized its concerns over "ongoing challenges." These challenges are centered around the reliability and availability of Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 engines, which power the airline's Boeing 787 fleet. This adds to the airline's existing engine problems with its narrowbody fleet. But what does this mean for us, the aviation enthusiasts or prospective travelers? Here's a breakdown: - ✈️Flight Schedules: The reliability issues could lead to potential flight delays or cancellations, disrupting overall flight schedules. - 🛠️Maintenance Costs: The airline might be forced to invest more in maintenance, affecting ticket prices. - ⏱️Aircraft Availability: The availability of aircraft may become a concern, leading to reduced flight options. - 🌍Environmental Impact: Frequent maintenance and repair could result in a larger carbon footprint. For those involved in the aviation industry or frequent flyers, how do you see these engine reliability concerns impacting your plans or operations? Let's start a discussion! #Aviation #AirNewZealand #RollsRoyce #Boeing787 #EngineReliability

Following Friday’s Alaska Airlines Boeing #737max accident in which a door plug blew out during climb, a quick look at Cirium fleet data reveals that all but 11 of the 217 737-9 Max aircraft in service (or temporarily stored) had their mid-cabin exit doors (MED) deactivated. Cirium understands that 190 of the aircraft with deactivated MEDs are fitted with “plugs” (incorporating a standard passenger window) in place of doors, which are subject to airworthiness directives: Aeromexico - 19 Alaska Airlines - 65 Copa Airlines - 21 Turkish Airlines - 5 United Airlines - 79 Reliance Industries - 1 (business opr) Total = 190 Other operators with deactivated MEDs (e.g. Icelandair) retain a door (with small window), but it is not in use. Eight of Copa's 29 737-9s have this configuration. Three airlines have 737-9 aircraft with denser cabin seating arrangements requiring the MED to be activated – they are: Corendon Dutch Airlines (two aircraft, 213 seats) SCAT (five aircraft, 213 seats) Lion Air/Thai Lion Air (four aircraft, 220 seats) The breakdown is understood to be as outlined in table. NOTE: this table does NOT reflect that Copa has a mix of specifications - 21 aircraft with plugs and eight with deactivated doors. (TEXT (but not table) UPDATED WITH LATEST INFORMATION)

Next time I book a flight, I’ll be looking out to avoid a Boeing 737 Max. As Hercule Poirot used to say: Too many coincidences don’t happen! Identification: Serrated engine nacelles. In any case, while booking a flight ticket you are informed of the plane type. #boeing #737max #aviation #lionair #ethiopianairlines #faa #usfaa #ntsb #airbus

#WizzAir Holdings has said it does not expect the number of grounded aircraft to increase in 2024 due to Pratt & Whitney engines. The Budapest-based airline was responding to an announcement from the US Federal Aviation Administration, earlier this week, in which it set out new maintenance requirements for PW1100G engines, which it says require inspection and possible art replacement if necessary. However, Wizz Air said the announcement is in line with guidance previously given by International Aero Engines LLC, meaning that it has made no changes to its capacity assumptions for 2024. The firm said there will be no increase in grounded aircraft in 2024 and no change to its grounding programme set to take place in January. It noted that the maintenance and part replacement requirements have already been accounted for in its original planning. More at #Proactive #ProactiveInvestors #AIM #WIZZ http://ow.ly/bPMi1055Mqt

Is Boeing safe? I do think this needs to be asked and looked into. With the current issues of the 737MAX did Boeing rush to produce this aircraft to compete with the Airbus a320 NEO? So my other question to you is, would you fly on a Boeing 737MAX? Lucky in Australia Bonza flies the 737-8MAX and Virgin Australia also has this on order. To answer my question, no I would not be flying on this aircraft anytime and I even think Alaska Airlines knew of issues. And I only say this as the two seats next to the "exit" were empty (and I think they were blocked by the airline). It will be interesting to see what comes from the investigation. #boeing #737max #boeing737 #alaskaairlines #travel #aviation https://lnkd.in/e4ziyjDv
