Decarbonizing aviation is critical to meeting the EU’s climate goals, and we are committed to driving this transition forward. - Decarbonization Investment: The estimated €61 billion per year investment needed from 2031 to 2050 is ambitious, but essential for a greener aviation industry. Wonderful World 🌍 Wednesday Imperial College, London I was invited to speak on a podcast at Imperial College London about how carbon markets can help generate the necessary funds for advancing the aviation industry towards a more sustainable future. Nadine Moustafa, Ph.D. led the conversation and Rhea Liem's insightful research on aircraft design and optimisation was an important reminder that academia and industry must keep the channels of communication open and fluid. We are already planning more conversations in this capacity for 2025. Afterwards, we were fortunate enough to sneak in and see the Carbon Capture Pilot Plant and Dr Colin Hale gave us a tour of the Control Room. Absolutely fascinating stuff! It reminded me that if we could fly at more than twice the speed of sound in a commercial capacity in the early 70s, we can certainly figure out the challenges ahead in decarbonising aviation. Humans are cool. We do amazing things - let's focus on funding positive innovation and get this job done! #thefutureisbright #aviation #flyingisaforceforgood #sustainablefinance
