Title: Chinese EV Manufacturers Take the Lead Globally 🌍🔋 In an illuminating analysis, Bernstein highlights that Chinese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturers like NIO, Xpeng, and Li Auto are ahead of the curve in the global EV market. Not only are they innovating at an unrivaled pace with advanced technologies and features—think NIO's ET7 with Level 4 autonomous driving—but they're also optimizing production costs significantly below those of their Western counterparts. 🚗💨 Key insights: - Chinese EVs are leveraging their domestic market's scale, driving down production costs to approximately $25,000 per vehicle, compared to $35,000 - $40,000 in Europe and the U.S. - Investment in R&D is empowering these companies to offer enhanced performance and longer ranges, like Xpeng's P5 sedan which boasts over 400 kilometers on a single charge. - The strategic access to a robust supply of lithium-ion batteries is giving these companies another competitive edge in the international market. 🔋 Considering the pace at which these companies are advancing in terms of technology, cost-efficiency, and scale, Bernstein suggests that adding Chinese EV stocks to investment portfolios could be a strategic move for those looking at forward-thinking investments in the auto industry. 💡📈 What are your thoughts on the rising dominance of Chinese EV manufacturers? Could this be a turning point in how we perceive automotive innovation and production on a global scale? #ElectricVehicles #Investing #Technology #AutomotiveInnovation #ChineseMarket #NIO #Xpeng #LiAuto #SustainableTransport

Historically, traditional car manufacturers pivoted around two components: the engine and the gearbox. Beyond these, the landscape was shaped by design nuances and materials sourced from diverse suppliers. Fast forward to the era of Electric Vehicles (#evs ), and a paradigm shift becomes evident. The #battery emerges as the #linchpin, driving both propulsion and market dominance. It's intriguing to note that a leading battery manufacturer BYD has seamlessly transitioned to become the world's foremost #EV producer. The core is redefined, but the peripherals remain components from sub suppliers. As the market matures, how will this focus reshape the competitive landscape and consumer dynamics? #ElectricVehicles #BatteryInnovation #AutomotiveEvolution #MarketTrends #automobiles Florian Mendheim

Accelerating electric vehicle (EV) adoption with home charging reimbursement | Co-Founder & Head of Marketing at MoveEV | Member of Chief
This is an interesting and innovative twist—flipping the current hybrid configuration on its head so the gas is the smaller "add-on" feature. I think it could be very useful as a tool for bridging the adoption curve gap as we move to the "early majority" group in the USA. I suspect those who buy these vehicles will quickly see that they rarely need the gas functionality, if ever, and that might make going "full" EV easier for the next vehicle? What do you think? Is this kind of baby stepping helpful or ultimately hindering progress? What might the unintended consequences be here? #EVInnovation #HybridTech #SustainableMobility #GreenEnergy #FutureOfTransportation #ElectricVehicles #EVAdoption #CleanTech #Sustainability #AutoIndustry
RANGE ANXIETY TREATMENT: Not ready for an #ElectricVehicle? An in-between solution is emerging that's known as an Extended-Range Electric Vehicle, or EREV. It runs on electric power most of the time, but has a small gas engine whose sole purpose is to recharge the battery, giving EREVs a driving range of up to 700 miles. They've become the fastest growing propulsion system in China & they're arriving in the US next year when Stellantis debuts the Ramcharger EREV pickup. Ford Motor Company also is interested in the technology. Says CEO Jim Farley: 'We really like that solution.' Our report in Bloomberg Businessweek

Nissan making moves in EV ⚡️ Nissan is making significant strides in driving down the cost of EV’s, with its innovative samarium-iron motor magnet. Set to be commercially feasible by fiscal 2030, this magnet promises to revolutionise EV manufacturing. The potential to slash EV production costs by 30%, bringing them on par with ICE vehicles would be a huge benefit. Unlike traditional neodymium magnets, Nissan’s samarium-iron magnet avoids reliance on rare earth elements primarily sourced from China, mitigating supply chain risks. Pioneering the use of samarium-iron magnets in EVs, is a first in the industry, showing that the next advancement is only around the corner. Even those that don’t approve of EV’s can’t deny that the technology is continuously advancing. However, Nissan must scale up from lab tests to mass production, a complex process with potential hurdles. The samarium-iron magnet’s magnetic force is currently between that of neodymium and ferrite magnets, posing performance optimization challenges. Company President Makoto Uchida emphasised the use of Nissan’s unique engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain methods to boost competitiveness in the EV market. By fiscal 2030, Nissan aims for 40% of its models to be electric, leveraging advancements in motor magnet technology to stay ahead of the competition. #nissan #electriccars #electricvehicles #evcharging #motoring #automotive #sustainability #innovation #batterytechnology #greenerfuture

It’s crucial US Automakers press forward in EV as hard and fast as they can. Eventually, this type of tech (and much more) that is already done, outside US markets, will be stateside. Imagine the effect on the US Market when imports years ahead in tech drops in our neighborhoods! What will the impact be on US Automakers? I don’t know of any US EV having dual motor tank steer and with wheel steer utilized for parallel parking, do you? What other advanced tech do these non-US EVs possess? I believe but not sure the EV in the video is BYD.
