We kickstarted the first consultation at HiPEAC to set up the European Edge Data Center Alliance, in which Industry unites in setting new standards for Edge data centers regarding the hardware and the software stack. All in line with European ethics and as a means to be the first hop from device and last hop onto the device where we can start implementing and supporting GDPR compliance, Digital Sovereignty, AI transparency, Edge security, Data spaces, Governance. Hiro is developing innovative edge data centers with their technology partners, supporting the EC’s aim to have >10.000 edge data centers built by 2030.

We're delighted to be at the Strategic Navigation Forum today in Brussels, organised by JPI Oceans, a Decade Implementing Partner! This high-level gathering aims to pioneer discussions on the future of marine and maritime research and innovation, looking beyond 2025. Alison Clausen, Deputy Coordinator of the #OceanDecade, will take part in the panel on marine and maritime priorities in the European and global context, happening at 1.15pm CET. The Strategic Navigation Forum is designed to: 🔹 Foster reflective exchange of national and European marine and maritime priorities post-2025. 🔹 Initiate forward-looking deliberations that transcend the current scope of Horizon Europe. 🔹 Provide a dynamic platform for European stakeholders to engage in strategic exchanges on marine and maritime agendas. In one of the opening sessions of the Degrowth Conference, the connections between militarization, innovation, and economic growth were highlighted, with a focus on the ongoing genocide in Gaza. The session posed critical questions: What happens when innovation is used for the destruction of entire populations? How is Gaza being used as a testing ground for new weapons and systems by the West to maintain colonial dominance? How much of Western power and growth is tied to its armament industry?
