"A few specks of dust can turn an efficient day into what can be a very long day - especially if those dust specks are in the wrong place, such as at the end of a fiber before a connection or splice. Keeping fiber clean is especially important because dust particles can cause permanent damage by pockmarking end faces, causing reflection and blocking transmission signals, causing permanent damage in the worst-case scenarios," writes Clearfield CMO Kevin Morgan in “A Little Dust Can Lead to Expensive Delays.” https://lnkd.in/gg29Ffvd

MobyDick Dust Control systems operate on the principle of binding dust using tiny water droplets. A modern high-pressure pump combined with a powerful filter system, the special nozzles and the aerodynamically shaped high-performance cone (turbine) en- sure an optimal droplet size and spread. These are directed at the dust source by the nozzle ring. There, they bind with flying dust particles and cause them to quickly fall to the ground, resulting in a marked dust reduction that benefits the workers and the environment.

What the heck is that weird looking doohickey on the side of some of our dust collectors? Why, that is the pre-filter cyclone Accumulator! It separates 95% or more of the dust from your air before it hits the filter inside your dust collector, extending your unit's life and saving you a whole lot of money. Learn how it works here: https://bit.ly/48Ao2Ip

Often there are simple improvements that can be made to improve dust control. Shrouds are an exceptional method for reducing air flow in undesired directions. As new contaminant sources are identified, a shroud can be used as the initial barrier. How the shroud is able to handle the source can provide useful information in the design of a more permanent solution. What is the biggest complaint about shrouds: - Turning a temporary solution into a permanent one? - Easy to see holes and tears that are often left unattended? - Using a shroud is like sweeping the dust under the rug?
