Is it sustainable to give employees more? Yes, it absolutely is, even though the market often thinks otherwise. Running three businesses, I’ve had my fair share of employee challenges —from employees wanting to quit, to asking for raises, to not feeling respected. And I’m sure this isn’t just specific to me; we all experience these challenges whether from an employee or boss standpoint. But let me tell you how we tackle these challenges: 1. We take a good, hard look at every employee. Can we help them grow? Can we bump up their pay? If not, what needs to improve? 2. We open up conversations. It's not just about what the company needs, but what our people need to thrive. 3. We find that sweet spot between improving everyone's situation and keeping the company successful. It's a balancing act, but it's doable. It all boils down to improving everyone's quality of life. Sure, money talks (let’s be real, it’s a big part of having a good quality of life), but it’s also about creating a space where people feel valued, respected, and have room to grow. Because, hey, we’re all human. We want to feel valued and have a shot at a better quality of life. And if we can create that in our workplaces, that’s when the magic happens. When employees feel genuinely cared for, they're more likely to invest their energy back into the company.
