Here is another example of how Portable Traffic Signals are a safer and more efficient tool for your next project.
From when I was old enough to reach the pedals of a skid loader until college, I spent hundreds of hours operating various farm and construction equipment. There was no PPE or formal training, just the instructions of "get your work done quickly, don't break anything, and don't be late for Goulash (for those outside the midwest..look it up) tonight at 7pm." Working in both agriculture and heavy construction is inherently dangerous work. I have several personal stories of relatives and people I know who were killed or injured while simply doing their job. Guys with limbs mangled by PTOs/grain augers, crushed by dozers, buried alive in a trench, a barn collapsing and killing someone after being loaded with hay... Little did I know I'd make a career out of educating, marketing, selling, and renting construction safety equipment for Street Smart. It's been very rewarding seeing the results of the solutions we provide. For me, there's nothing more motivating than hearing a new customer say "This product has made our job safer and more efficient...I wish I would have known about these five years ago..." In about 20 days, I'm lucky enough to be speaking and exhibiting at the Ariat Dirt World Summit where our team will be highlighting two of the major advantages that technology-enabled safety devices can provide to contractors: 1. Safety- Fewer boots on the ground exposed to distracted drivers and construction equipment. 2. Operational Efficiency- Yes, the same devices that increase safety can improve jobsite productivity. Need proof? Here's a recent example showing how our equipment allowed the contractor to move 52,000 yards of sand with haul trucks crossing a public roadway 5,400x, all without the need for a single traffic flagger. These signals provided "green-light priority" to the 20 yd. haul trucks, eliminating the need to slow down or stop to look for traffic. Please forward the post to others you think would be interested, and let's connect to help combat outdated safety practices. https://lnkd.in/g6MkvJJW

Human error isn't the only factor in road crashes—road infrastructure is key in reducing and mitigating them. This road safety engineering manual shows how to use crash data to identify and fix hazardous traffic blackspots in the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) region. Designed to support engineers, traffic police, and road planners, it explains why investments in road safety not only save lives, but they also provide significant returns to the community.
