We loved having Encircle come visit and teach us about their organization. We were able to listen to their mental wellbeing presentation, learn how we can support the LGBTQIA+ community, and write notes to the youth and participants at Encircle. Thank you Encircle! We are so grateful for Encircle for all they do for the LGBTQIA+ community and the resources they provide to help youth be themselves. Thank you for helping us at Clearlink know how we can be a part of creating a world where LGBTQIA+ youth and young adults thrive!🏳️🌈❤️ #clearlink #pride

🌟 Call to Action for All Marginalized People🌟 ✊🏿✊🏾✊🏽🏳⚧🏳🌈🧠🌈♾️🦻🏻🦮 👨🏼🦽: Be the Change for Better Workplaces 🌟 Truth bomb of a personal story. It took me years of trauma therapy to function after being told: - You should not be visible. - This is a white Germanic space; you can't lead here. - If you do not delete your education from your LinkedIn, I will make your life hell. There was so much more, and there was not a damn thing I could do about it Part of my AUDHD makes me an empath: During that time, my kids were diagnosed with ADHD, and my daughter is still on a long waitlist for Autism. The process is lengthy and costly. I was diagnosed with ADHD, but honestly, I won't waste the funds on an AuDHD diagnosis with what I already know. My therapist explained that the combination of trauma and my brain running at such high energy was the reason it took so long to recover. People think Autism has low empathy, but in fact, it's the opposite. I absorb everything, feel everything, and have such sensitivity to injustice, but I communicate in a non-neurotypical way. I also approach problems and solutions differently. So here is my action from my learning! When you see a person with disability facing a crisis, your actions can make a big difference. Here are some steps to help with compassion and respect. 📍 Stay Calm and Assess the Situation Take a moment to evaluate the crisis and ensure that you are not putting yourself or others in danger. 📍 Offer Assistance Respectfully Approach the person calmly and introduce yourself. Ask if they need help and how you can assist them. Respect their answers even while at it. 📍 Communicate Clearly Speak clearly and be patient. Use simple language and be prepared to repeat information if needed. If the person uses assistive devices or alternative communication methods, try to accommodate them. 📍 Provide Emotional Support Offer words of reassurance and stay with them if they feel comfortable. Show empathy and reaffirm their feelings. 📍 Call for Professional Help if Necessary If the situation is serious, contact emergency services immediately. Provide clear information about the nature of the crisis and any visible disabilities. 📍 Follow Up If possible, check in with the person after the crisis to see how they are doing. Provide additional support or resources if needed. Lastly, be a Supportive Ally. Your actions can provide crucial support during a crisis. Did you find this useful? Make sure to repost and share for more reach. Together, let’s create a more inclusive and caring community! #Codisa #DisabilitySupport #InclusiveCommunity

For older adults, adults with disabilities, and caregivers, mental health and social support are closely linked. We’ve held listening sessions with our community to see what it really needs when it comes to social support. Community members reported a strong desire for intergenerational friendships, transportation and money to engage in social activities, intentional spaces to foster community, and the acknowledgement that pets play an important support role for aging adults. Mental healthcare systems should also be easier to manage and friendlier to navigate—individuals should never feel lost in the system, nor rushed by it. We’re using what we’ve learned in our listening sessions to create a Master Plan for Aging for the Inland Empire.
