Today, I woke up with the idea of discussing parenting 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸-𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲.
It's that time of the year when we tend to get a little bit more sick. 😐
As a full-time working mom, I am incredibly grateful to #epam for the opportunity they've provided me to work from home.
(By the way, if you're looking for a new opportunity, feel free to get in touch with me!)
This way, I can continue working while my daughter is at home dealing with a cold. 😰
Recognizing that working from home with a child is not easy, and understanding that I am not alone in this situation, I would like to share some tips with you. 💡
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗸𝗲𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗮 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗲𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗯𝗼𝘁𝗵 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗷𝗼𝘆𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗱. (I know it is not that easy 😀 ).
Attempt to organize your 𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲 in a way that clearly communicates it is designated only for work purposes—reserved for mom and dad and not intended as a play area for children.
Consider engaging your child in various age-𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 (something to create - so they can stay focused in meantime), especially during crucial moments when you need to concentrate on important tasks or attend meetings.
(Given my imminent completion of my Pedagogy degree, I am enthusiastic about sharing numerous ideas for activities tailored to different age groups if you are interested).
𝗦𝗲𝘁 𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗯𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲. Having a defined schedule helps everyone understand when it's time to focus on work and when it's time to be fully present with the family.
𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗹𝗲 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻. Whether it's a quick snack or a brief outdoor activity, these breaks provide valuable moments to connect with your family and recharge your own energy.
