Delivering fit-for-purpose Pharmaceutical Needs Assessments for Health & Wellbeing Boards nationally. | Extensive experience in PNA delivery – 46 to date | Chief Operating Officer at Soar Beyond
Where do you go next as a senior clinical pharmacist? This was a question I could relate to having started out in general practice some 15 years ago. So it was a really interesting panel discussion that I hosted at Clinical Pharmacy Congress with three senior pharmacists who have taken and arrived at different routes in their own career trajectory. There is a crossroads that many will encounter when they need to decide whether to be more clinical or strategic. However, we discussed with the evolving role it is possible to be both, especially with the Clinical Pharmacist role but there is little support to enable and accelerate this, in reality. The fact that the audience was packed highlights how pertinent this issue is and will continue to become as many senior Pharmacists have now been in place for 5+ years. We certainly didn’t have all the solutions within the panel, but I think that understanding the potential decision points and their implications is really important in your development journey. You will know that Soar Beyond Ltd has a passion and a specialism in bringing some of these practical, commercial, change management and strategic skills to clinical pharmacy leaders who now need to develop as they advance their careers. Thank you Anthony Ajvinder Singh Digpal, Sarah Partridge & Nitesh for your provoking yet relatable contributions.

What problem are YOU solving? Deanna solves problems for specialty pharmacies through employee training and revenue protection strategies for PBM audits. Zach solves problems for health systems and clinics via antibiogram analysis and clinical frameworks to reduce antibiotic resistance. Danielle solves problems for patients in assisted living facilities using pharmacogenomic testing to aid in medication selection for behavioral health. Each of these Pharmapreneurs were able to build on their experiences as a pharmacist to provide consulting services that leverage their knowledge and bring in revenue in new ways. 🛑🛑🛑But first these pharmacists needed to UNDERSTAND the problem they were solving as entrepreneurs 🛑🛑🛑 It’s an exciting time for pharmacy professionals to reimagine their careers on one of the three Pharmapreneurial Paths: Physicians Office Consultant, Pharmacy-Based Program Consultant or Patient Pay Program Consultant. 🌟 Embracing the Journey: From Hospital Halls to Corporate Calls 🌟 As I look back on my journey as a pharmacist, I'm struck by the twists and turns that have defined my career. It all began in the quiet halls of a hospital, where I immersed myself in patient care, learning the nuances of clinical practice. Each day, I witnessed the profound impact of personalized medicine, which reinforced my commitment to the profession. But my story didn't stop there. With a thirst for new challenges, I stepped into the fast-paced world of retail pharmacy. The shift was significant – from the structured hospital environment to the dynamic and unpredictable retail sector. Here, I learned to think on my feet, manage diverse patient needs, and truly understand the community I served. Yet, my curiosity and desire to make a broader impact drove me to explore the pharmaceutical industry. This new chapter brought me into the realms of research, development, and regulatory affairs. I found myself at the intersection of science and innovation, contributing to advancements that reach far beyond the local community. It was a thrilling and humbling experience, reminding me of the vast potential our field holds. Throughout this journey, I’ve come to embrace one fundamental truth: it’s okay to take risks and switch paths. Each transition, while daunting, brought new opportunities for growth and learning. There were moments of uncertainty and even failure, but these moments became the most powerful teachers. To my fellow pharmacists and all professionals who might feel confined to a single path: it's never too late to pivot. Whether you’re just starting out or considering a change after years in one role, remember that your career is a journey, not a destination. Every step, even those that seem off course, adds to your story and enriches your experience. So, take that leap of faith. Embrace the unknown. Learn from every success and setback. Our careers are not linear, and that’s where the beauty lies. We have the power to redefine our paths as often as we need to, and in doing so, we discover our true potential. Here's to the courage to explore, the resilience to adapt, and the wisdom to know that every experience is a valuable part of our journey. You are Young enough to bounce back from faliures . #pharmacist #careertalks #pharmacommunity #hospitalpharmacist #communitypharmacist #industrialpharmacist

Managing Director | Partner - Pharma & Life Sciences Practice Leader Strategy& Europe - PwC Global Client Partner
How is the customer landscape changing for #MedicalAffairs: In part two of Strategy& Medical Affairs leadership conversations with Yan Cai (SVP Clinical, Medical and Regulatory Affairs, International Operations at Novo Nordisk) and Estelle Vester-Blokland (Head of Global Medical Affairs at Bristol Myers Squibb), we discussed the transformation of Medical Affairs from the angle of an expanding customer landscape. Traditionally centered on physicians, Medical Affairs extends its reach to nurses, payers, and other allied healthcare professionals impacting patient care. This evolution challenges Medical Affairs teams to think and act differently about customer engagement: (1) A Widening #Ecosystem Beyond Physicians - There is undoubtedly a growing number of stakeholders, requiring a broader perspective and a holistic, collaborative engagement approach from Medical Affairs (2) Education Across #Stakeholders - Medical Affairs steps into new territories: e.g. the need for well-trained sonographers or pharmacists is addressed by leveraging specialized expertise of MSLs having worked in these roles before, demonstrating the adaptability and innovation within Medical Affairs (3) Cross-functional #Collaboration - No longer confined to a single function, Medical Affairs must share responsibilities, e.g. with Commercial teams, and leverage interactions across diverse customer segments for impactful engagement Strategy& PwC #FutureOfHealth Thalita Marinho Christian Kaspar Dr. Jens Neumann Dr. Christoph S Gross Jonas Grefe Kariem Schlieper Iryna (Stadnyk) Scheurlen Dr. Christian Wieber Nalah Schneider Dr. Marcel Stangier Laura Mace Brian Selvarajah Oguz Ozden Roland Werner Dr. Robert Paffen Matthias Reyntjens Kevin Kalinka Bodo Baumeister Mylène Jeandupeux Burcu Yetkin Dominik Hotz Nicolas Rowan
