March Madness Leads to Year-End Triumph… The last few days of March are a whirlwind, with intense pressure to close deals and hit ambitious quarterly targets. Strategies are meticulously planned and negotiations with clients are ongoing. But when the final numbers are tallied, the elation of exceeding expectations will make all the sacrifices worthwhile. Congratulatory messages and praise pour in from senior leadership, commending the team's grit and performance. As the financial year comes to a close, there is a palpable sense of pride and accomplishment. Celebrations are in order, but also a refocusing of energy and determination. With this success as a catalyst, everyone feels invigorated and eager to take on even bigger challenges in the new fiscal year ahead. The future seems bright and full of possibilities to continue excelling at their roles.

What does retirement mean?

Some ideas below from Action for Happiness to get 2024 off to a positive start. Well all need to do some self care.

That's how russian peace is delivered: by bombs and missiles and drones, directly to Ukrainian homes. A pretty calendar that could be hung on a wall, if it were not the calendar of daily death. Still, one can print it out and be reminded of how the death itself is sent from russia to Ukraine on a daily basis. This is just one month of russian aerial attacks on Ukraine. And behind them, there are many lost lives of normal people and many more lives touched by the war. That's how russian peace is delivered: by bombs and missiles and drones, directly to Ukrainian homes.

What do you want your Legacy to be? During a recent workshop, a participant asked me what I wanted my legacy to be. I shared with them a colleague's comment during his retirement speech about a Letter of Recommendation I wrote for him many years ago and a handwritten note I put on the recommendation letter.     Like many who will read this, I have led a life of selfless-service. This question reminded me that our education, experiences, and training were not solely for our benefit. They were for our future families, coworkers, country, and those you will help and support. The knowledge and skills we have accumulated are tools to make a positive difference in the lives of others. The most important people are those we can look at and say, "My life is better because of what you have done for me." Strive to be that person—a source of support, inspiration, and positive change. Remember, the impact you have on others is a reflection of your character and values. Make it a positive one. To remain relevant and effective, we must consistently seek new knowledge, skills, and experiences and face our fears. As Robert Sharma wisely said, "The fears we don't face become our limits." It's essential to confront our fears head-on. Doing so breaks down personal barriers and sets an example for others to follow. Embracing challenges and stepping out of our comfort zones enable us to grow and achieve new heights. You won't regret facing your fears; you'll only regret the opportunities you missed by not trying. This proactive approach, coupled with a thirst for continuous learning, ensures we can always offer our best to those who depend on us. A Chinese proverb states that two-thirds of what we see is behind our eyes. This emphasizes the importance of perception and foresight. Our past performance can indicate our future possibilities, but we are truly only as good as our last race. It's vital to look beyond the immediate and obvious, to envision future potential and possibilities, and to act with those in mind. In conclusion, remember that our legacy is shaped by our continuous efforts and the positive impact we have on others. Embrace challenges, face your fears, and never stop learning. Doing so ensures that you are always at your best, ready to contribute meaningfully to the lives of those around you.

A good focus point to start 2024…every small step can count.
