Please refrain from dragging 14 million Afghan girls and women into this conversation. Their struggles go far beyond what you may understand. These women have endured unimaginable suffering, not just since 2021, but for many years prior—especially when your government funneled funds under the banner of "women's empowerment." Those funds often empowered corrupt Afghan politicians and amplified voices that did not truly represent Afghan women. Instead, they exploited the name and plight of Afghan women to line their own pockets. If you genuinely care about Afghan women and girls, urge your government to take a stand against providing platforms for the Taliban, rather than targeting the Afghan cricket team. Cricket brings a glimmer of hope to millions of Afghans enduring unbearable hardships. Stop hosting members of the Taliban in Europe under the guise of negotiations and start addressing the real issues. Let Afghan women and girls see real solidarity, not misplaced criticism. From 1 June to 12 July, #ACLED recorded 96 political violence events and 82 fatalities. The protests, initially against the 2024 Finance Bill, have highlighted deep-seated structural challenges in the country. The raising of the Russian flag during these demonstrations is concerning and must be condemned, as it distracts from the core issues and can have serious implications for national stability. It's crucial for the government to listen to the people's demands and take immediate action to address the underlying causes of these protests. Ensuring justice, transparency, and effective governance are essential steps toward a more stable and prosperous Nigeria. My personal opinion.

#SafetyAdvisory #DemonstrationAlert: Several flyers are being shared on social media, indicating that a group of young Kenyans intends to hold demonstrations on July 16 in every central business district (CBD) nationwide. Whereas the authenticity of these flyers cannot be verified, there is a high likelihood that the demonstrations will take place. Authorities will almost certainly maintain a heightened security presence along key thoroughfares, near government buildings, and in the vicinity of any protest activity that may materialize. Especially tight security is likely in Nairobi around the State House, Parliament Building, government buildings, and along major highways. Security forces may establish checkpoints to prevent protesters from gathering. Activists could also block roads. Further clashes between security forces and demonstrators are likely. It's advised to plan accordingly and exercise situational awareness.
