The closing of Stegeman Coliseum back in March forced a lot of people to change plans. This includes the volleyball team, which now plays at the Ramsey Student Center, the recreational center at the University of Georgia. The result is a much more intimate experience, comparisons have been drawn to it being like watching a high school game. If you're curious what it looks like, check out my new video!

Tennis is hands down better than pickleball 🎾 Now that I worked half of my followers up, let me break it down… Pickleball seems to have taken over the world (my world anyway, here in Florida from college students up to the retirees) 🏓 But the why isn’t super clear… You go to pickleball courts and it looks like the below (super crowded) Meanwhile tennis courts at the same parks sit empty ✌️ Then it hit me, pickleball is literally running the 2024 growth-stage playbook: 1️⃣ Build a simple, cost-effective product with a… 2️⃣ Low barrier to entry (minimal skills or cardiovascular strength needed) and… 3️⃣ Create an ecosystem of evangelists (who then get other users…ahem, players) Gonna take a page out of the Warren Buffet book and zig (tennis) while y’all zag (pickleball): “Be fearful when others are greedy, and be greedy when others are fearful.” I’ll enjoy the open courts and extra cardio work 👀 #ecosystem #growth #tennis #pickleball

Welcome to Pickleball 101! 🏓 Pickleball is played either as doubles (two players per team) or singles 🏓 The same size playing area and rules are used for both singles and doubles 🏓 The serve is made diagonally crosscourt and must land within the confines of the opposite diagonal court. 🏓 If a point is scored, the server switches sides and the server initiates the next serve from the left-hand court. 🏓 Points are scored only by the serving team. 🏓 Games are normally played to 11 points, win by 2. 🏓 Tournament games may be to 15 or 21, win by 2. 🏓 When the ball is served, the receiving team must let it bounce before returning, and then the serving team must let it bounce before returning, thus two bounces. 🏓 The non-volley zone is the court area within 7 feet on both sides of the net. 🏓 The non-volley zone is commonly referred to as “the kitchen.” 🏓 A ball contacting any line, except the non-volley zone line on a serve, is considered “in.” 🏓 A serve contacting the non-volley zone line is short and a fault. Who wants to get out and play? https://lnkd.in/d7Ggj-Rv #Pickleball #PickleballRules #PickleballCourt #SportsSurfaces

How much difference does a racquet actually make? I think it makes a big diffrence, however, this can be a mental trap where players like myself put too much value on intricate little diffrences between racquets. From the outside view, the first two serves with the rf97 and the head prestige were identical. Once the quality of the equipment decreased so did the the serve. While picking a good racquet that suits our game is important (especially for players with tennis elbow), sometimes there can be a lot of time wasted tinkering around with specs that have no real impact on our game. #tennistechnique #tennisplayer #tenniscoach #tenniscoaching

Moving from practice to match play in tennis is the ultimate test, showcasing how well skills hold up under pressure. Similarly, launching a product is our 'match play.' It's where preparation meets opportunity, and resilience turns challenges into triumphs. As we gear up to launch 4 out of 6 new products this May, our journey from 'drop feed' to 'live ball' practice has been instrumental. It's ensured our team is ready, our integration seamless, and our delivery impactful. Let's embrace the complexity and unpredictability, for it's in the real game that true champions are made. #LaunchReady #TeamSuccess #EmbraceTheChallenge
