🔍 Watson Glaser: The Gatekeeper to a Legal Career 🔍 If you're applying to top UK law firms, chances are you'll face the Watson Glaser critical thinking test. Firms like Clifford Chance, Linklaters, Freshfields, Hogan Lovells, Dentons, Macfarlanes, Mayer Brown and Reed Smith LLP use it to assess a candidate’s ability to think logically under pressure. 💡 Why is it important? Because a lawyer’s job is to analyse, evaluate, and argue—all under tight deadlines. The Watson Glaser helps firms identify who has the sharpest legal mind. ⚖️ Why is it so tricky? 🔹 The difference between assumptions and inferences is razor-thin. 🔹 "Strong" and "weak" arguments are subjective (until they aren’t). 🔹 You’re battling time pressure while maintaining accuracy. 🚀 A Few Quick Tips: ✔ Break it down – Read every word carefully. Assumptions hide in plain sight. ✔ Don’t overthink – The test rewards logical clarity, not legal knowledge. ✔ Practice makes perfect – The more you train your brain, the sharper your reasoning. At The Legal Careers Club, we know how tough this test can be. That’s why we’re planning a Watson Glaser webinar to help students crack it with confidence. 📩 Want to stay updated? ✔ Follow us for expert tips & tricks. ✔ Drop a comment if you want early access. ✔ Head to our website & subscribe to our newsletter! We’re also attaching a post from Clifford Chance to better help you guys—make sure to check it out for more useful information and insights! #WatsonGlaser #LawCareers #LegalIndustry #TrainingContracts #MagicCircle #CommercialLaw #CriticalThinking #LawGrad #FutureLawyer #LegalRecruitment #LawStudents

It's a short week for me, but my diary is full with client and candidate meetings, and that is the thing I love most about my job 🤗 🤝🏼 Meeting face to face establishes strong and meaningful connections. Relationships are built on trust and understanding, which can lead to long-term partnerships and ongoing collaboration. 🧩 Getting to know candidates and businesses, allows you to understand their needs, preferences, and cultures. This ultimately enables you to make more informed and accurate matches! 🤩 It also gives you an opportunity to uncover exceptional skills, unique experiences, and hidden potential that might not be immediately apparent on paper. 🎁 Meetings allow you to develop bespoke recruitment strategies that address particular requirements within the business. This afternoon, I am in Sawston meeting two new businesses. 𝙁𝙪𝙣 𝙛𝙖𝙘𝙩, 𝘚𝘢𝘸𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘯 𝘝𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘢𝘨𝘦 𝘊𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘨𝘦 𝘰𝘱𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘥 𝘪𝘯 1930 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘪𝘵 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘪𝘳𝘴𝘵 𝘷𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘢𝘨𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘨𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘰𝘱𝘦𝘯 𝘪𝘯 𝘌𝘯𝘨𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘥! 😮 Always looking to meet new people, so if you'd like to meet then pop me over a message 📧 #Sawston #clientmeeting #candidatemeeting #relationshipbuilding #CambridgeHRRecruitment
