Some PRVs can be difficult to lap...for example this type with a conical lid. You need a lapping ring with a hole in it ( and the same shape of optical flat for flatness-checking).No you can't lap the lid to the seat....that's for compressor valves

MINI DYNO: While being spun over with the drill both motors are in phase. (Ignoring losses) When the engine fires the supply voltage and frequency of motor 1 suddenly increase. Motor 2 rotor magnets lag behind motor 1, lowering motor 2s inductance and allowing large currents to flow. This additional load usually stalls the engine. Motor 2 either gets pulled into phase within one cycle, or looses synchronicity. In most cases it does the latter. This bufferting can be felt through thr drill and seen on the spindle of motor 2. A larger flywheel on the miniature version could work but will be impractical on the full size dyno. A clutch assembly will probably work. Engine power at start/idle speed can be any where down to a 10th of full power. So our larger engine may be down to 30hp at idle. Unlike motors where significant torque is available very early on in the rpm range, an engine is fixed by its torque curve.
