What an absolute honor it was to meet the legendary Bertrand Piccard, Chairman of the Solar Impulse Foundation, today at the Singapore Pavilion during #CoP29 in #Baku! Dr. Piccard is not just a pioneer but a true visionary whose groundbreaking contributions have inspired generations. His relentless pursuit of innovation and sustainability culminated in a feat many deemed impossible—a #SolarPoweredAeroplane, proving to the world that renewable energy can transcend limits. I had the honor of introducing #AVAADA Group, one of India’s largest and fastest-growing renewable energy company. Avaada is a #SandToMolecule company—our expertise spans from generating #RenewableEnergy (solar, wind, and storage) to upstream and downstream vertical integration, including #SolarManufacturing, #ElectrolyserProduction, and #GreenHydrogen initiatives. 4 years at Helen ⚡️⚡️⚡️ Since starting in virtual mode in the middle of pandemic in 2020 with solution business, I also led product & service & portfolio development, now leading New Business & Hydrogen business unit that is actually my 3rd position here! Together with all heleners, customers and stakeholders, we have transformed Helen from a fossil energy company into a forerunner in renewable energy and a digital energy platform. 💸 The European Commission just announced a major investment in cleantech projects! 85 innovative companies across Europe will receive a total of €4.8 billion from the EU Innovation Fund as part of the 2024 call to develop technologies that will help reduce carbon emissions. This is the biggest funding round of its kind since 2020. This initiative aims to deploy cutting-edge clean technologies across 18 countries in Europe, supporting sectors like renewable energy, energy storage, and net-zero mobility. These projects are projected to cut emissions by 476 million tonnes of CO2 over the next decade, significantly contributing to EU decarbonisation goals. 🏆 A big win for Estonian-based Elcogen 🏆 Elcogen is among the beneficiaries of the Innovation Fund, receiving funding to manufacture Solid Oxide Electrolyzer Cells (SOEC) for the production of green hydrogen. Earlier this week, Karan Oommen and Rhys Thomas attended the ESBN Innovation for Net Zero Conference in Dublin. The event was jam-packed with engaging discussions and presentations including a range of insightful topics, but a few highlights stood out to our team: The keynote speaker presented how engagement and collaboration drive innovation, particularly in renewables, and intriguingly applies anthropology to the energy sector. As well as Start-Up Presentations: Innovative modeling solutions designed to help DNOs predict and address network constraints sparked great discussions on the day. Then, our very own Rhys Thomas took to the stage to present on the ESBN LCT Register project. This initiative, which we are working on with ESBN, is set to launch in early 2025 and aims to enhance grid flexibility in the Republic of Ireland. Rhys shared insights into the benefits of the LCT register and its potential to support a smarter, more adaptable energy grid. It was great to see so many professionals sharing knowledge and exploring opportunities to advance the energy sector. 【MOU to develop "Green Corridor" lead by Madoqua!】 We are happy to announce that we signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to develop a green corridor connecting Portugal to Northern Europe with Madoqua Renewables Holding Lda (Madoqua)(Note) and other global leaders. This Green Corridor project aims to establish a shipping route where low-emission shipping solutions are utilized and low carbon fuels are transported. Global industry leaders from Europe, Asia and North America have come together to support the development of this Green Corridor. The collaboration includes diverse sections of the energy transition value chain, including financial partners, terminal operators, academic and policy institutions, industrial corporates committed to decarbonization, green fuel producers and alternative fuel off-takers.
