📣 This week we published our first Annual Report, telling the story of how the Climate Governance Initiative has grown as a global network dedicated to bringing #ClimateAction into boardrooms across the world. But where are we going next? Here are our priorities in the next phase of our development: 📈 Support new Chapter development in countries with high #emissions and a correspondingly high potential to move the dial on global emissions. 📈 Mobilise existing Chapters to deepen our collective impact. 📈 Support board directors to boost their knowledge and skills by producing high quality content to directors at different stages of their climate journey. 📈 Build partnerships locally and globally to extend our impact. 📈 Learn from and share the experiences of #boards so we can identify and promote best practice in #ClimateGovernance. Together, we are already shifting the dial towards solutions. ➡ To learn more, view our Annual Report: https://lnkd.in/eiZJPN5v

I talk about climate risk and business risk a lot. 🤐 But I recently realized how easy it is to fall into a trap of "industry language." Jargon like “mitigation” or “carbon neutral” can unintentionally create barriers for those not familiar with these terms. It's crucial to make these concepts accessible to a wider audience, from professionals to the broader community. Businesses must grasp the risks posed by climate inaction. ⏰ However, it's equally vital to articulate how sustainability aligns with profitability. By communicating clearly and accurately, we can engage more people in the climate dialogue and collaborate towards meaningful solutions. We need to ensure that we are all speaking the same language. Let's proactively bridge the communication divide between climate experts and business leaders to drive progress. I'll share some helpful links in the comments. Feel free to join in and share your favorite (or less so) climate buzzwords. 📣 #ClimateRisk #BusinessRisk #Sustainability #Communication #ClimateAction

Climate Week NYC is on—the largest annual event of its kind to drive climate action. We're excited to see our own Michael Maslansky and Will Howard getting involved. Here’s Will joining a distinguished panel of speakers for a Financial Times Live event titled, “Is the Writing on the Wall for NZAM and CA100+?” The panel discussed how to address the mounting pressure from investors and politicians for asset managers to take a step back from ESG commitments. For more on how investors are responding to climate actions and anti-ESG pressure, check out this article from Michael Maslansky and Will Howard, as featured in Harvard Business Review. https://lnkd.in/gyX3VxjT #ClimateWeek #ESG #ResponsibleInvesting #ClimateAction
