#Cannabis has always had a bit of a "taboo" reputation in India, but times are changing. Once revered as a sacred plant in ancient texts, it's now making waves in everything from wellness to eco-friendly industries. Whether it's the growing medical benefits or its role in creating sustainable products, cannabis is no longer just a niche topic—it's becoming a part of our everyday conversation. Some states like Uttarakhand are already stepping forward with laws allowing medical cannabis use, and more are starting to see its potential. But it’s not all smooth sailing. The cultural stigma still lingers, and many are torn between embracing its benefits or holding onto the old perceptions. Will it redefine industries like textiles and health, or is it too controversial for the masses to truly accept? We want to know—where do YOU stand on cannabis in India? 🌿 Do you think it’s a game changer or just a passing trend? Drop your thoughts below, cast your vote, and let’s get the conversation started! #healthhorizon #hemphorizon #hempindustry #hempnews #newsinindia #indiahemp #hempindia

🌟 𝐀 𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐤 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐲 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐍𝐀 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: 𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐍𝐞𝐱𝐭 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐚 𝐅𝐫𝐲 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞🌟 Picture this🧠: You visit your doctor for a check-up, expecting the usual generic prescription. Instead, they look at you and say, “We’ve customized your medicine based on your DNA. Oh, and by the way, maybe skip the masala fries—your genes aren’t a fan.” Sounds like science fiction🧬, right? Nope, this is personalized medicine, and it’s happening right now, in India! Gone are the days🫡 when one pill fits all. Thanks to breakthroughs in biotechnology, your treatment can now be tailored to your unique genetic blueprint, lifestyle, and even family history. This isn’t just a healthcare upgrade—it’s a revolution! But explaining this to my Brij Bhasha-speaking granny from our village in Uttar Pradesh was another challenge entirely. Granny: "Beta, yeh DNA waale doctor humare gaon bhi aayenge kya? Aur DNA se kachori bhi banate hain kya?" Now, while DNA kachoris aren’t on the menu (yet), personalized medicine is making its way to Indian households. From cancer treatments that target specific mutations to genetic tests that predict diseases before they happen, this is not just healthcare—it’s health carefully tailored to you! With companies like MedGenome and Mapmygenome leading the charge, even in a country as diverse as ours, personalized medicine is becoming more accessible. Who knows, maybe one day, your chai tapri guy will offer DNA insights along with your cutting chai! This isn’t just about science; it’s about a future where healthcare finally understands you. What do you think—are you ready to swap “generic” for “genetic”? Let’s discuss how this DNA-driven revolution can shape the future of healthcare in India. #HealthcareRevolution #PersonalizedMedicine #Biotechnology #India #fun_with_fundamentals

#TheCiplaStory Dr. Khwaja Abdul Hamied, the founder of Cipla, had a dream and vision for the company that was truly pioneering for its time. Here are some key aspects of his vision: 1. *Make medicines accessible and affordable*: Dr. Hamied believed that medicines should be within reach of everyone, regardless of their economic status. He wanted Cipla to be a company that made high-quality medicines at affordable prices. 2. *Challenging the British monopoly*: In the 1930s, the Indian pharmaceutical market was dominated by British companies. Dr. Hamied wanted Cipla to challenge this monopoly and become a successful Indian pharmaceutical company. 3. *Innovate and research*: Dr. Hamied was a strong believer in innovation and research. He wanted Cipla to invest in research and development to create new and effective medicines. 4. *Global reach*: Dr. Hamied had a vision of taking Cipla global, making it a recognized brand worldwide. 5. *Social responsibility*: Dr. Hamied believed that businesses should give back to society. He wanted Cipla to be a responsible corporate citizen, contributing to social causes and improving healthcare in India. Under Dr. Hamied's leadership, Cipla became a pioneering force in the Indian pharmaceutical industry, known for its commitment to quality, affordability, and innovation. Today, Cipla is a global pharmaceutical company with a presence in over 80 countries, still driven by the values and vision of its founder.
One day, a young chemist from Aligarh decided to trade his career as a reader in Chemistry for a PhD in Germany. A patriot and nationalist, he would later be recognised as Dr. K.A. Hamied. His dream? A world-class pharmaceutical laboratory for a self-sufficient India. Six years after returning to India, on August 17, 1935, he founded Cipla out of a humble bungalow in Mumbai (pictured). Since then, for nearly a century, Cipla has been more than a company; it is a promise kept. Its growth mirrors the evolution of India’s pharmaceutical sector. Welcome to #TheCiplaStory - Join us as we celebrate an 89-year-old legacy of hope and care. Our first stop - 1939 when Mahatma Gandhi visits the Cipla premises. Dr. K.A. Hamied was hugely influenced and inspired by Gandhi’s philosophy and this visit further strengthened Dr K.A. Hamied’s resolve. A self-sufficient India where medicines were accessible to all, is the vision he was driven by. It’s no surprise then, that Cipla hosted a constant stream of like-minded visionaries and leaders, including, Sir CV Raman, Maulana Azad, Rajkumari Amrit Kaur, Dr. SS Bhatnagar and others. Every milestone we achieve is a testament to Dr. K.A. Hamied’s enduring spirit and vision of #CaringForLife. Before I met Umang, I had no idea of the incredible history of CIPLA, and its pioneering spirit in free India, its dogged insistence to enable medicine to reach people at reasonable values, rather than the bottom line greed that we see in typical Pharmas! I was deeply inspired by Umang’s own resilience, his no-complain, get on with it attitude which he ascribes so respectfully to his parents. “Being comfortable with being uncomfortable”. What a powerful philosophy. And it’s clear that Umang lives by it. His humility and simplicity are apparent in everything you see about him. CIPLA is a true institution, one that India should revere. It puts the patient ahead of profits. We are so blessed to have it and in having Umang run it. 🌟 **Watch the full episode of "In Search of Greatness" featuring Umang Vohra now!** 🌟 https://lnkd.in/gQ4A_Bf3 #InSearchOfGreatness #UmangVohra #Cipla #Resilience #Adaptability #Pharmaceuticals #Leadership #Inspiration #medicine #healthcare #leadershipcoaching #business #organisation #doctor #healthcare #healthcaremanagement #fitness #leadersoftheworld #thoughtleaders #insearchofgreatness #beingcentredleaders #transformations #podcast #infrastrucutre #india

Since I worked in Germany, Europe, and now in India in the field of healthcare and life sciences, many reach out to me to ask for my expertise. One of the things that really shocks people is how bullish I am about India. Indian Biotech/Life Sciences is going to revolutionize the whole world. I am not quoting any research reports here; I am quoting my gut feel, and I believe people who are reading this have a role to play in making India a Biotech/Life Sciences hub. The field is so promising, and we do not have any dearth of talent. There is so much to do. #LifeSciencesIndustry #BiotechRevolution #HealthcareInnovation #IndiaBiotech

BREAKING: Indian media is blowing up with news of Human Metapneumovirus (hMPV)! But here's the truth: hMPV is a common cold virus that peaks in winter and early spring. No need to panic! Very common in children (10%-12%). Don't believe the sensational headlines - it's not mysterious, just seasonal. Mostly, fake observational reporting, unfortunately. Empowering the Next Generation: Time for a Paradigm Shift in Education!! Recent remarks portraying India as a "laboratory" have sparked outrage, and rightly so. It’s disheartening that such narratives still persist, reducing the potential and creativity of Indians to a mere experimental objects. Educators and mentors have the responsibility to break this cycle. Our academic institutions must not merely follow but lead by instilling creativity, innovation, and a sense of purpose in students. We need to nurture a generation that does not fall prey to external influences or mimic Western practices blindly but instead competes with the world on our own terms, showcasing the richness of Indian intellect and culture. This is a call for change in our academic approach—to foster a mindset of problem-solving, critical thinking, and socio-entrepreneurship. Let’s empower our students to build a future where India is not just a participant but a leader in global innovation and progress. The time to act is now. Let’s create heroes of our own making, prepared to drive sustainable change and redefine success for generations to come. #EmpoweringEducation #InnovationLeadership #CreativeThinking #FutureGeneration #IndianIntellect #RedefineSuccess #GlobalCompetitiveness #SustainableChange #TransformEducation #EducationalReform
