Keyland recently sold its interests in Templegate Developments Ltd to joint venture partner EVANS PROPERTY GROUP for an undisclosed sum.   TEMPLEGATE DEVELOPMENTS LIMITED is the company behind Skelton Gate, a 170-acre former open-cast colliery site to the east of Junction 45 of the M1.   Skelton Gate is being developed and built using key principles of sustainable development whilst delivering a residentially led mixed-use scheme of high quality and design. To date, the partnership of Evans and Keyland has secured planning permission for Phases 1 and 2, which includes up to 1,100 homes, a new school, public open space, a local centre and a food store. An application is currently running for Phase 3, which will provide an additional 700 homes and infrastructure. Major updates are coming to the Cogswell District on Dec. 16. Over the past six months, Barrington Street, from Upper Water to Duke streets, was closed to support a significant step in the project's progress. This closure impacted drivers, Halifax Transit, pedestrians, cyclists and local businesses, with 30 transit routes detoured and bus bays relocated. Here’s what’s changing on Dec. 16: -new Halifax Transit Terminal: The terminal at Scotia Square will open, rerouting approximately 30 transit routes that have been on detour since June. The terminal features heated shelters, more seating, wider sidewalks and an additional bus bay. New trees and landscaping will be added in 2025. -Valour Way and roundabout: Valour Way reopens. The new roundabout, which has been partially open since October, will be fully operational, including a temporary connection to Nora Bernard Street. This connection facilitates local access to Amalamek Way businesses but will not connect to Brunswick Street at this time. -Cogswell Street and transit lanes: Cogswell Street, from Brunswick to Upper Water, will reopen, along with new transit lanes on Barrington Street through the roundabout and on Cogswell Street between Barrington and Gottingen.
