🚀 Elevating UI with 3D Buttons: A Splash of Dimension! 🌟🔘
Hello LinkedIn Design Community! 🎨✨
Today, let's dive into the realm of 3D buttons – an exciting dimension added to user interfaces! 💡
🔍 Key Features of 3D Buttons:
Depth and Realism: 3D buttons bring a tangible quality to the digital space, creating the illusion of depth and realism.
Dynamic Shadows: Playful shadows cast by the buttons enhance the visual hierarchy, adding a layer of sophistication.
Engaging Interactivity: The subtle pop and hover effects make interactions more intuitive, providing users with a satisfying experience.
🚀 Why 3D Buttons?
In the world of UI design, 3D buttons go beyond aesthetics. They provide users with visual cues, elevating the interactive experience and making elements stand out in a delightful way.
🎨 The Art of Interaction:
Design is about more than just pixels; it's about creating an engaging journey for users. 3D buttons add an artistic touch, turning ordinary actions into visually appealing and memorable experiences.

Test the edges to gauge the middle. 🚥
As a professional designer, you are an artist for hire on most days. Yes, you get to do work for yourself from time to time, but the majority of your work is largely for other humans. 🙋🏽♀️
For this reason, it is critical to wear the hat of a consultant during every design iteration.
And here's some secret sauce 🌶 ➡ If you want to understand the preferences and goals of your clients, you need to discover the limits of their motivations.
Design something that is simply not enough and then design something that is way too much. By doing this, you can better meet your client in the middle of their motivations and dream up products that are beyond their wildest dreams.

100 Things Every Designer Needs to Know About People by Susan M. Weinschenk, Ph.D.
How People See
Chapter 7: People see cues that tell them what to do with an object
Everything around the world is interactable. Car handles to open doors, video game controller buttons with their shapes and shadows, a computer mouse to click and scroll, and more. The examples I’ve mentioned share a commonality in which they invite users to communicate and interact with the object. These cues are called affordances. In my own words, affordance refers to how users can easily identify an object as being interactable. The object should be inviting and clearly communicate to users how to interact with it.
In the design world, a great designer creates elements that effectively communicate their function to users. For example, buttons should have shadows or a hover effect to cue users to push them. Another example is a slider for volume or brightness control. These UI elements typically have a bar with a knob that users can drag horizontally or vertically. The visual design of the bar and knob gives users a clear understanding of how to interact with the element to control volume or brightness.

Not sure how to get the balance right between usability and aesthetics in your sidebar? Let’s fix that together!
Here are some quick tips to design better sidebar navigation:
1️⃣ Ditch the gray panel – It's not adding to your visual hierarchy and creates unnecessary white space.
2️⃣ Align text to the left – Improves readability and makes navigation easier for your users.
3️⃣ Simplify icons – Reduce the size of avatars and move less important items (like the settings icon) to a logical place, such as grouping with the avatar.
4️⃣ Focus on nav items – Use font weight, hover states, and active states to prioritize navigation and enhance the visual hierarchy.
5️⃣ Improve contrast – Make sure any notification badges pass contrast checks for accessibility.
6️⃣ Collapsible sidebar – Ensure the sidebar is fully collapsible and add tooltips for easy navigation in both expanded and collapsed states.
If you liked this video, you’ll love a new feature coming soon to the Memorisely platform! We can’t wait to share it with you. Stay tuned!
Designing a user interface is similar to playing Tetris with pixels - you have to fit all the elements together perfectly to create a smooth experience. #UIUX#Design#PixelPerfect
Stop relying only on colors while doing UI!
We all want to create great & accessible interfaces, right?
So... why do we rely only on colors while building them?
Typical scenarios that we all went through:
— Focused field? — Let's change a color!
— Error state? — Let's change a color!
— Text link? — Let's change a color!
--
How to fix this? Use multiple visual clues!
1. Stroke widths
Make an focused text input line a bit thicker, it's active.
2. Text properties
Make a text link bolder and underlined, it's clickable.
3. More icons
Add an error icon next to the text, it's scannable.
4. Different icons
Switch solid icon for active tab, it's contrasting.
5. Animations
Use motion occasionally, it's eye-catching.
--
With that, your interface can be easily read.
— By anyone, anywhere, and anytime.
Color is cool, but add something to it!
