Senior Verizon UI/UXDevelopoer Experience
I interviewed for the Senior UI/UX Developer role at Verizon, which I found to be a really exciting opportunity. The role involves developing component libraries that are used internally across Verizon's products. While I don't have prior experience specifically in building component libraries, I have a strong background in creating reusable components. I'm eager for this opportunity and excited to give it my best shot.
Round 1: Recruiter Call
A 30-minute conversation where the recruiter discussed my background, the role, and Verizon's team structure. We talked about my experience in front-end development, design systems, and the technology stack.
Round 2: Coding Challenge
The technical challenge involved coding tasks on a platform like HackerRank. It included:
1. JavaScript problems, such as array manipulation or implementing a utility function like debounce.
2. A React component task where I had to create a reusable component that handled states and was accessible.
3. A CSS task to create a responsive layout using Flexbox or Grid.
Round 3: Technical Interview
A deep dive into my experience building reusable components and my approach to design systems:
1. I explained how I design flexible and maintainable components.
2. We discussed how to implement theming using CSS variables or design tokens.
3. Focused on accessibility, adding ARIA attributes, and managing keyboard navigation.
Round 4: System Design
This round focused on UX design systems:
1. I discussed collaboration with designers using tools like Figma or Zeplin.
2. I explained how I apply Atomic Design principles to create reusable components.
3. We also talked about performance optimizations for components in large systems.
Result : failed . I expected it as I didn't convey my thoughts clearly to interviewer. But it was very good experience
The role focuses on building reusable, scalable components, collaborating with UX designers, and ensuring accessibility and performance.
