It's time for the regulator to regulate benchmarking for #pms. Yes, flexibility in pmses is the strength, but then comparison needs some standardisation. Within the category, having varied benchmarks with different focuses becomes difficult to compare. As such the period keep changing , the fund performance and investor performance at times are poles apart and then if benchmarks are like Smallcap 100 and mid & smallcap 400 within smallcap category it becomes difficult to compare.
