Have you ever had this challenging client with "No" as their motto for every discussion, call, email, and every proposed solution?
There's nothing called "Worst Client Ever", on the contrary, "Challenging Clients" do us good in providing opportunities to grow and upskill our expertise. Let me share this quick story with you. I once had an enterprise client with a high profile whose favorite word was "No". Every idea presented was met with a resounding rejection, every #solution proposed was swiftly dismissed. This client was talented and creative with their #rejection responses; "we don't need this at the moment", "the executive committee won't approve this", "we don't have the budget", "we're cutting budgets", "we don't see the value in this", "we're currently undergoing restructuring, this can wait", "now is not the time for this", and more.
Despite this #challenge, the team and I persisted and refined our approach to each rejection. Slowly but surely, we uncovered the key to unlocking the client's "No" fortress which eventually lead to the possibility to carrying the conversation forward and receiving a "Yes" in most cases.
