In 2023, Samui welcomed 3.54 million visitors, driven by a domestic influx that saw registered hotel guests surpass 2019 levels by 1.5 times. Despite a dip in Chinese tourists, new markets from Europe, the USA, and Israel are on the rise. Planned expansions at Samui International Airport and a new cruise terminal promise further growth.
