My newsfeed is full of job-market predictions for 2024 And I’ve been searching for predictions that resonate with my own. Josh Brenner (CEO of Hired, based in NYC) shared his predictions with Business Insider in late December 2023 (link in comments) And despite having an undoubtedly US-centric view, these feel pretty accurate to me. He rightfully points out the turbulence of 2023 and is optimistic about growth in 2024 He predicts: 📈 Hiring will accelerate, particularly in departments like R&D and sales 💻 Companies will prioritise candidates who demonstrate highly specialised skills (particularly in data science, machine learning and cybersecurity) 🤖 AI won’t replace most jobs but will find its stride helping with mundane tasks 👎 Companies may de-prioritise diversity and inclusion ✌ Inflexible return-to-office policies will harm employee retention Do these predictions resonate with yours?
