Estrogen is important for our cardiovascular health. Like other systems in the body, your cardiovascular system is influenced by the effects of oestrogen. Post menopausal women are at far greater risk of cardiovascular disease and heart attacks. Unfortunately it is the No' 1 health risk from perimenopause onwards. HRT, however, can reduce this risk by up to 30%. I can help you navigate this scary time of life with knowledge and understanding. Your heart health and body weight are closely interconnected. Excess weight increases the workload on the cardiovascular system, contributing to higher blood pressure, elevated cholesterol levels, and possible insulin resistance. Over time, this additional strain can significantly raise the risk of developing serious, potentially life-threatening cardiovascular conditions. As we approach #WorldHeartDay, it’s important to recognise the vital role of treatments like #semaglutide. This GLP-1 receptor agonist not only aids in weight loss but, through clinical trials, has been shown to reduce cardiovascular events by 20% in adults, including heart attacks and strokes. That’s why the MHRA recently approved semaglutide for reducing serious cardiovascular events in overweight and obese adults with established heart disease. But long-term success isn’t just about medication. Sustainable health requires a holistic approach, combining medical treatments with the ongoing support of healthcare professionals and meaningful lifestyle changes. This is a big moment for heart health — let's make it count. #WorldHeartDay #HeartHealth #ObesityTreatment #Semaglutide #HolisticCare
