As the new school year kicks off, it's the perfect time to get your back-to-school budgeting in check. With a little planning, you can handle those school expenses without the stress. Here are some tips to help you stay on track: Tip 1: Reuse backpacks and school supplies. If it's in good shape, clean it up and keep using it. Tip 2: Stick to a list and don't overshop! Impulse buys add way up. Tip 3: Spread out purchases. You don't need to buy an entire wardrobe now. Keep your kiddo from outgrowing everything at once by getting a few items at a time. Tip 4: Compare prices before buying. This is easier to do now than ever. Don't waste your money by overpaying. Tip 5: Buy in bulk where it makes sense. If you know you are going to need more pencils in a month, go ahead and get the family pack. With a solid plan in place, you can tackle back-to-school shopping like a pro. You've got this, Mama! 💪

Value vs Short Term vs Long Term Profits. What does that look like for you? Example: A child goes to a private school located in a tiny complex with seven empty office spaces available for rent. The whole facility is owned by one owner. The teacher tells the owner that drivers are cutting through the complex and speeding. She has to cross this area with the children to go to the playground. She wants speed bumps. He does nothing, and she continues to complain. After her fourth time asking, the owner concedes. The owner installs two in a lot needing around six. He picks the cheapest available option. Teacher: This is horrible. We are talking about the safety of three to five year old children. I am looking for a new facility for next year. The owner struggles to obtain and maintain leasers, but when confronted by one of his remaining four with a safety issue, he opts for the cheapest method and risks driving her away. Was the value of pushing back, or cutting costs on speed bumps for children's safety, really worth it? He saved a few thousand but will loose double digits in the end. Just food for thought...

One of our students sends their child to a private school. We were discussing how the tuition is high and what could be done to help address it. The approach? Simply call up the school and ask if they're willing to offer a discount. Result? 35% discount on 2024/2025 tuition 😤 We're talking mid 4-figure savings from a single phone call 💸 If you don't ask for what you want & need, you're not going to get it.
