This is a great article that encompasses the incredible potential of Artificial Intelligence transforming healthcare, especially while bridging accessibility gaps. Dr. Steven Lin, Chief of General Primary Care at Stanford Medicine, oversees a team of dedicated primary care physicians and recognizes the challenges of catering to diverse patient needs efficiently. The limitations of time, workforce shortages, and resource constraints often hinder the level of care they aspire to provide. However, his optimism lies in the potential of AI, not just in diagnostic prowess but in enhancing access to care, especially in underserved communities primarily served by Medicaid. Dr. Lin emphasizes the true power of AI lies not in futuristic diagnostics but in ensuring today's medicine reaches those who need it. The focus is on scalability and making healthcare accessible. As Lyric continues to leverage AI to simplify the business of care, aligning with the vision of making healthcare accessible to all becomes a vision that becomes more within our reach. #FutureOfHealthcare #AIInHealthcare #Innovation

We are among 28 health care providers and payers who are committed to the safe, secure and trustworthy use and purchase of artificial intelligence in health care. Recently, we've implemented AI in a few ways - and to help your care team have more time to focus on caring for you. These AI implementations include: Abridge ambient listening technology, a HIPAA-compliant writing assistant, Doximity GPT and a partnership with nference to use de-identified health information data for research purposes - always ensuring your privacy and security is our top priority. Joe Depa, Emory Healthcare and University Chief Data and AI Officer said, “Responsible AI is at the core of all we do at Emory in the pursuit of our mission to improve lives and provide hope for our communities. If used responsibly, AI has great potential to enable an improved patient experience, reduce provider and nurse burnout, and provide ground breaking research.” Through these partnerships, we're proud to support the alignment of the health care industry on AI for improving health outcomes. I'm back in the office after attending the Nuffield Trust Summit last Thursday and Friday on behalf of Understanding Patient Data. The Summit themes of trust, openness and relationships really capture the spirit of the event. It's been a great opportunity to make new connections and have some fascinating conversations about health policy. Given the emphasis on productivity in last week's budget, it was interesting to hear the Secretary of State's reflections on productivity in the NHS and the role of AI in delivering productivity gains. I was glad to hear the emphasis on public conversation and trust in relation to data and AI, but to echo Nuffield Chief Executive Thea Stein's opening remarks, it is important to avoid making "heroic assumptions" when talking about the use of data and AI to improve productivity. Data and AI will surely play an increasingly important role over the coming years in improving healthcare efficiency, but it's not a panacea. I thoroughly enjoyed the session on data and AI, expertly chaired by Nnenna Osuji, which can be re-played below. Some ideas from this conversation I will be thinking about: 💡The importance of avoiding the 'tail wagging the dog' when it comes to AI. We need to use it strategically to help solve defined problems, rather than chucking ever-increasing amounts of data at AI without knowing what we're going to do with the results. 💡The idea of "ghost work" in tech and the amount of hidden human work to make AI work. Does this undermine some of the productivity gains promised by the use of data and AI in the NHS? 💡We still have a long way to go to ensure electronic patient records are not only rolled out and available in every NHS organisation (remember 4% of trusts are still fully paper-based and 71% use a mix of paper and electronic records) but standardised and interoperable. With the Government promising £3.4bn on technology to boost productivity, NHS leaders will get better value from investments in digitisation and improving data than headline-grabbing AI tools. https://lnkd.in/esE_rB3M #NTsummit #patientdata #healthdata
