Last week when some of our organization was still happy and enthusiastic from Sunday's awesome Strategic Planning session, some of us were cozied up in bed with one of a variety of bugs that seem to be making the rounds. Thanks for bringing the cookie tray AND the rhinovirus to the Boxing Day get together, Cousin Mitch! It was so bad over the weekend that the ER at PRHC was overwhelmed with patients and had to issue an advisory that begged non urgent cases to seek a different avenue of treatment through walk-in clinics, after-hours, Telehealth Hotline or other sources of medical care. You may ask, "What does that have to do with Volunteering?" We answer through sneezes, in a raspy voice, "Plenty." If you are sick, please do not share your germs with your volunteering opportunity, for many reasons. You being gone for one day to deal with your exploding sinuses is not going to be the level of inconvenience that losing half the staff for a week will bring. If you are working with those who are known to be vulnerable health groups (seniors, kids, disabled, etc.) you could cause them to get infected, and they may not be able to shake it as easily. And if your shifts are canceled because of outbreaks, trust that you have dodged a phlegmy bullet. Don't try to be a hero and show up anyway. Like inclement weather, inclement health is a safety issue for you and those around you. Please act accordingly. And if anyone has a black market source on Kleenex with Lotion, let us know. #NonprofitLife #SeasonOfSneezin #CommunityHealth #GetWellSoon #SendSoup

Did you know that 1.5 million kids in the US are sleeping on the floor? A few months ago, I connected with Josh Polgardi on LinkedIn. We got talking, and I dove into what his company, Luff Sheets is all about. What I found? It’s not just about getting a good night’s sleep. It’s about giving kids the same chance. 1.5 million kids in the US are sleeping on the floor. But Luff Sheets is changing that. For every sheet set sold, they donate one to organizations that build beds for these kids. That’s real impact, and so far, these organizations are delivering 100,000 beds each year. 🥹 But let’s make it even bigger. I’m challenging creators to join me in the #LuffUpChallenge: 1. Buy a set of Luff Sheets and they’ll donate a set to a child in need. 2. Then, share your purchase, tag your network, and challenge them to do the same. 3. Let’s show what a difference something as simple as a good night’s sleep can make! Tagging Nat Berman, Hugh Meyer, Luke Matthews and Moe Choice — are you in? It’s easy: do good, sleep well, and challenge your audience to do the same. And if you haven’t checked them out yet, here’s what you’re getting: • Insanely soft & breathable • Cooling & moisture-wicking • Hypoallergenic & OEKO-TEX® certified • 5-star reviews, every time They just donated their first $1,100 worth of sheets to Chattanooga’s local Sleep in Heavenly Peace chapter last week, changing the lives of 55 kids in Tennessee! This is just the beginning. It’s time to Luff Up and give back. Head to fallinluff.com 💗 Do good, sleep well. #ThisIsNotAnAd #IJustLuffIt --- P.S This is what LinkedIn and community is all about, supporting each-other! If you can't afford to purchase one right now, as Jasmin Alić always says, you can promote others for $0. Because every time you leave a comment (even a quick comment) on somebody's post, you are actually: 1. Promoting their brand 2. Promoting their business 3. Bringing them to new people Your comment is either a referral or an introduction. commenting = supporting ❤️ (Repost this for others, please ♻️)

Not Everyone Will Make Merry This Christmas✍️ Your act of kindness & love matters 🙏 As the festive season approaches, many of us are surrounded by joy, laughter, and the warmth of loved ones. But let’s pause for a moment to acknowledge that not everyone will make merry this Christmas.🤔 Behind the lights and celebrations, there are people battling silent struggles: 📍Families facing financial hardship, unsure of how to put food on the table. 📍Individuals dealing with loneliness, missing loved ones who are no longer here. 📍Children longing for gifts that might never come. 📍Those burdened by health challenges, unable to join in the festivities. In a world where we often move too fast, a little act of kindness can make a world of difference. A thoughtful gesture, no matter how small, has the power to brighten someone’s day. 🎁Donate to a family in need. 🧑🤝🧑Visit someone who may be feeling lonely. 🤲Offer a kind word, a listening ear, or even a helping hand. 🫶Support your local charities or community initiatives. These simple actions can transform what might have been a season of sorrow into one of hope. To my LinkedIn community, thank you for being part of my journey this year. As we step into the festive season, let’s spread love, kindness, and compassion wherever we can. Wishing you all a Merry Christmas filled with warmth and joy, and a Happy New Year full of success and blessings! #TheAuditor #KindnessMatters #Christmas2024 #NewYearHope
