NOAA: National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration's Storm Prediction Center has released a preliminary report of severe weather for 2024, and it's well-above average. The US averages 626 tornadoes during the same time period over the prior 15 years, and has identified 833 tornadoes through May 20, 2024.
