In collaboration with Matthew Disney at The Herbert Wertheim UF Scripps Institute for Biomedical Innovation & Technology, we used our groundbreaking MFS technology to investigate the interaction between the protein Dicer and the pre-microRNA, pre-miR-21. 📈 Using our platform, we applied slow ramps in force, increasing over time until pre-miR-21 became linearized. 🔄 We repeated the experiment, but this time with the protein Dicer bound to pre-miR-21. 📊 Raw data showed that Dicer increases the force required to linearize the RNA strand - by about 6 pN of force. 🏋️♂️ This showed us that the RNA-binding protein Dicer stabilizes the structure of pre-miR-21. 🔬 We then tested a number of drug candidates, one of which significantly inhibited Dicer : pre-microRNA21 binding. 💡 In this way, our MFS platform can unveil the dynamics of RNA-protein interactions - and help you identify drug candidates that alter biomolecular interactions. If you could directly measure the strength of biomolecular interactions, what would you explore? #RNATherapeutics #DrugDiscovery #Biotech #Interactomics

Two important topics that are near and dear to us at BioIVT will be explored in-depth at #ASGCT2024 this week. We’re always striving to match researchers with the right test system for their research to help ensure accuracy. To that end, Karissa Cottier, PhD will be presenting #scientificposter 727 on Wed. afternoon on the in vitro assessment of GalNAc-conjugated siRNA cellular uptake and target knockdown in primary human #hepatocyte culture models: https://hubs.ly/Q02w7L2T0 And just as relevancy can greatly impact research and development outcomes, logistics plays a critical role in the quality of #biospecimens by the time they reach the hands of researchers, which is why we work so hard to secure our supply chain. As part of our commitment to quality, Diana Chiluiza, PhD will be presenting poster 1371 on Thurs. afternoon analyzing the impact of temperature conditions on cell stability in #leukopaks during shipping: https://hubs.ly/Q02w7Kj60 Make sure to stop by booth 1037 to connect with our expert team, including Parijat Jain PhD, Christopher Reed, Joshua Taylor, Brianna Van Ness and Timothy Moeller, to discuss securing a RUO + GMP provider for #CellandGeneTherapy cellular starting materials, finding the right biospecimens for your needs, understanding the #ADME properties and risks of your therapeutic, and more! #CellTherapy #GeneTherapy
