We are proud to support the #Derwent Golden Age Centre. We recently donated funds to allow them to purchase a new defibrillator for the centre.

The 2024 #UKGivingReport from Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) estimates that the UK public donated £13.9B to charity last year—up £1.2B from 2022—as part of its mapping of generosity across the country. Today is the United Nations' International Day of Charity, a great time to start conversations about the benefits (to everyone!) of connecting with charitable causes. Supporting charities doesn’t just help those in need; it also brings huge value to the companies and people involved. It creates a real sense of pride and positivity, bringing teams together and building stronger relationships within the business. Getting involved in charity work also helps shape a culture of empathy and shared responsibility. When employees feel more connected to a cause, it boosts motivation, productivity, and team spirit – all while making a positive difference in the community. Many of our clients, including The Openwork Partnership through its foundation, regularly raise money for great causes and have a lot of fun doing it! Whether it's charity runs, volunteer days, or fundraising events, these activities not only support important causes but also boost team morale and engagement. Partnering with charities creates meaningful experiences that strengthen community spirit, bring people together, and leave a lasting impact. What’s not to like about that? #sustainability #socialresponsibility #internationaldayofcharity
We want to mark United Nations International Day of Charity by saying a huge thank you to everyone who has helped raise funds for, volunteered and donated to The Openwork Foundation in 2024 so far. There is still time to get involved. Email the Foundation team on foundation@theopenworkpartnership.com to find out how. #proudlymakingadifference #InternationalDayofCharity Lisa Willingham Abi Hart Alex Davies

We closed last night, leaving 5 homes in need of energy; we take it as a failure but have to try and be positive and remember we did assist 9. This morning, Saturday the 13th of January, 2024, we started the day with two generous donations of £5 and £25, to which we added £250 of local funds. Balance £280. We, of course, immediately from 07:30 this morning, went out & resolved the five homes from last night, at a total spend of £230. During the course of the morning, we again received 11 referrals, 3 so very urgent that we had to resolve them without any delay, so we added a further £80 of local funds and spent £130 in dealing with them. The situation as of 12:15hrs, on Saturday, 13th of January 2024 is we have 8 households, homes to 26 people We have seriously struggled this week, & understand times are tough for so many, but if anyone can help, details for the separate account we maintain for this work are Account details: John Kirby Sort code: 60-84-07 Account number: 22703033 This country is in desperate need of a social tariff, & we must have a system where "Debt Collection" via a pre-payment meter is automatically suspended during winter; people should, in winter, be allowed to use the credit they put in for energy.

This morning we have added £250 of local funds to the £715, that we had available from the 23rd December, so have £965 available. Our benefactor paid to resolve 16 homes on the 24th, spending £656 and we had donated us, Qty 25, £25 food boxes £625, and on the 25th our benefactor resolved 3 homes £117 and finally yesterday they resolved 7 homes spending £287.. I have to thank the #Sikh communities of Nottingham and Derby for the food boxes This morning Wednesday, the 27th of December 2023, we have already had 11 referrals (bust due to the end of friendly credit) , all of which have been resolved, and as of 10:30hrs, we have spent £451 and have £514 in the pot remaining.

For the first time, the #CAF #UKGivingReport reveals the country’s generosity hotspots! We’ve mapped our research along the new parliamentary constituency boundaries to see how different areas support charities. Our interactive map lets you explore these results, showing you how many people in your area donated in 2023, how much your local area donated as a whole, and how generous people in your area are – compared to household incomes. Despite our very best efforts yesterday, we closed Thursday night. 18th of January, 2024, with 19 people over 6 homes who remained in need.. Today, Friday, the 19th of January, 2024, we started the day with a regular donation of £5, and we added £39 of local funds to it and resolved a single home, and we added a further £300 of local funds, With this we resolved a further 5 homes at a spend of £210, leaving us £90 in the pot. As an explanation, remember that when we top-up #prepaymentmeters (#PPMs) they often have a debt on them being collected at a rate of between £2.00 & £21 per week, and in some cases, people have debt on both their #Gas & #Energy Meters, they also take the standing charge and any "Friendly Credit" uses overnight/Sundays or Bank holidays and finally also take "Emergency Credit used" https://lnkd.in/eUfNHxSK https://lnkd.in/e39UiGtB It is not just about tariffs, it is about energy efficiency as well. Just today, we have received 12 valid claims; the numbers have been higher because of the cold spell and the increase in fuel costs since the first of January.. Of these using the £90 in the pot and a further £36, we have resolved 3, and at the current time, 13:30hrs on Friday, 19th January 2024, we have nine homes in need, that is 28 people without energy

Connecting charities and public sector organisations with their communities by improving communication | PR Strategy | Comms Campaigns | Stakeholder Engagement | Crisis Comms
The televised Children in Need and Comic Relief fundraisers are often reflective of more general giving trends. Even in times of great financial strain, people are incredibly generous; the total raised from this year's Children in Need was £33.5 million. A new giving report from Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) has prompted headlines today. The Guardian has reported that "the British public donated record £13.9bn to charity last year. Average monthly donations rose by nearly 40% to £65 with poorest areas among the most generous." So far, so positive, but CAF's UK Giving report highlights areas of concern too, such as a drop in the number of people regularly donating to charity. For me, this report reinforces the need to keep trying different ways to engage audiences, particularly younger people. That means experimentation, which doesn't sit well with more risk averse organisations. There may be a cost to trying something new, but it's perhaps not as costly as the alternative. See what you think. The CAF UK Giving report is available here: https://lnkd.in/eDZickcJ

Did you know in-kind contributions can boost your nonprofit’s chances of securing funding? These non-cash resources like volunteer services, donated goods, and more can be used to meet matching fund requirements without needing additional cash. Leveraging in-kind contributions can make a huge difference when applying for grants. #410ConsultingFirm
