To say museums receive a lot of foot traffic is an understatement! 🚶🚶🚶 We recently rejuvenated heavily soiled flamed granite near an entryway of a popular museum. Our team executed a deep clean and applied a color-enhancing matte sealer for increased protection while preserving the integrity of the natural stone. Looking for results like these? 🔍 The Hidden Work Behind Museum Walls: More Than Meets the Eye 🏛️ As museum professionals, we often talk about the exhibitions we create and the visitors who experience them, but what happens behind the curtains is equally essential to the museum's success. From cataloging artifacts and conserving precious objects to curating engaging content and designing immersive experiences, the "behind-the-scenes" work is the backbone of every museum. The hours spent on research, collections management, and logistical planning ensure that every exhibit is well-organized, informative, and impactful. But perhaps most importantly, it's the passion and dedication of the people behind the scenes that truly bring a museum to life. Without them, the stories we share with the world would never come to fruition. 🙌 Let’s take a moment to appreciate the hard work and tireless efforts of everyone who makes the magic happen before the doors open to the public. It’s not just about what’s on display—it’s about the countless steps taken to preserve, interpret, and present our shared heritage. In museums, the quality of lighting is crucial to showcasing exhibits in their best light. LED lighting offers superior light quality, ensuring that colors are vibrant and details are crisp, enhancing the overall visitor experience. Additionally, LED systems provide the flexibility to customize color temperature, allowing curators to set the perfect ambiance for each exhibit. This adaptability not only highlights the artifacts but also contributes to the storytelling aspect of museum displays. By choosing LED lighting, museums can ensure that their collections are presented in the most visually appealing and protective manner, preserving the integrity of precious items.

Museum spaces have always attracted people with the opportunity to take beautiful photos. Sometimes it's pictures of the exhibits, and sometimes just a nice selfie on a pretty background. During my time working in a museum, I often encountered visitors who wanted to take intimate photos. Usually museum rules don't deny this type of photo. But it can inconvenience other visitors, especially families with children. What do you think? Is it acceptable to take such photos in museums? #security #museumsecurity #museum #museumrule #primavera_911 # #securityguard #safety #Risksanalysis #securitymanagement #crimeprevention #predictiveprofiling #riskmanagement #securityawareness #physicalsecurity

PEST MANAGEMENT IN MUSEUMS #Insects are responsible for significant damage to #museum_exhibits, #historical_books and #buildings. Different types of insects attack different materials. A few common parasites are found in collections in Europe, but most of them circulate worldwide. AgroSpeCom uses the Integrated Pest Management (#IPM) approach in museums, identifying the most vulnerable #collections, implementing #preventive_measures and #monitoring. An additional part of the IPM strategy is the #training of museum staff on the main #pest_challenges. The digital "Sacred Service" launches today! https://lnkd.in/gN5z7Nyr This innovative online experience brings 11 artifacts of WWI chaplains directly to your screen, offering an intimate look at faith on the battlefield. With the interactive 3D models we've incorporated into the exhibition you can examine rare WWI chaplain artifacts up close -- from anywhere in the world. Rotate, zoom, and explore items like a chaplain's field Communion set or a trench crucifix in great detail. The exhibition "Sacred Service" goes beyond the typical war narrative, diving into the spiritual, mental, and emotional support chaplains provided to service members facing unimaginable challenges. In the physical space, National WWI Museum and Memorial has created a deeply moving experience that highlights the human -- and spiritual -- side of the Great War. This digital encounter provides a snippet (11 from the exhibit total of 200+ objects) of that physical exhibition. This content, unlike the physical exhibition, is free, accessible 24/7, and will live on long past the current physical exhibition's run. It doesn't take long to explore the items and view the exhibition; it was intentionally designed to be viewable and not exhaustive. It also doesn't take much time or many objects to get the story across -- the courage, faith, and humanity in times of conflict that these men provided is palpable through the artifacts that remain, even on screen.
