Do your people leaders understand how their work is tracked and measured to support their growth? A recent survey revealed that 33% of organizations lack a formal way to measure the success of their people leaders. Conversely, over 90% of organizations with established frameworks find them beneficial in guiding their leaders. Transparency in tracking and measuring the performance of people leaders allows companies to identify and invest in talent at this level. To take action, consider these tips: - Collaborate with peers and the Executive Leadership Team to define the measurement framework. - If you already have a Rubrik, ensure its consistent use. - If you do not have a Rubrik, you are not alone; 20% of companies also lack one. In such cases, create a framework with input from peers and the ELT. - Lastly, remember to update the Rubrik annually to reflect changes and growth. Last Thursday we hosted our exclusive summer virtual Executive Forum with our guest and team member @Laura Cooper on Politics at Work: Navigating Election Season. Several leaders joined us from diverse industries including tech, media, and retail.  Some of the key takeaways were: -HR and leadership must proactively maintain a focused and calm company culture, especially during challenging political times or otherwise risk productivity that could cost up to $359 BILLION a year. -Open communication, clear company guidelines, and expectations regarding behaviors that are out of alignment with the company’s principles are key to preventing disruption and minimizing dysfunction. -Leaders can focus on proactively developing communication skills and strategies to manage political discussions. Training on conflict resolution, difficult conversations, and active listening are the top recommendations that some of these organizations are already implementing. The bottom line is that leaders need to be courageous in these uncertain times, or employees will fill in the gaps with their own interpretations.
