Its versatility and sturdy construction make it ideal for continuous heavy-duty use. With an automatic PLC-based control system for seamless integration and the option for customized features like chutes and conveyor belts, this machine simplifies maintenance and boosts efficiency. You can achieve up to 4BDT/h output with 75% dryness using the KADANT LAMORT SAS X BABBINI S.P.A. Coarse Press. Johannes Dänner of Sofidel S.p.A. shared his good experience with the machine. In conversation with Kadant's Thiago Ribeiro Gonçalves, He said - With the installation of the Coarse Press Machine at our facility, we've seen an incredible improvement in our waste management process. Before we had 30-35% reject consistency, which went up to 65% with coarse press, reducing our waste disposal cost by half. The average waste disposal cost per ton in Germany is in hundreds (euros).   The efficiency and reliability of this machine has exceeded our expectations. It has helped us cut the per-day reject weight by half. This translates into substantial cost savings and reflects Sofidel’s commitment to environmental sustainability and resource conservation. Let's talk component parts: Polypropylene fibers. By their very nature fully biodegradable products cannot provide a permanent solution- so for permanent applications products made with polypropylene fibers and are utilized. Polypropylene is a UV stabilized (does not break down in sunlight) fiber, and can withstand a wide variety of pH and other chemical exposures, as well as being inert in saturated conditions. This material allows for a permanent but vegetated solution on sites, as opposed to using a non-vegetated system like concrete or riprap. (fun fact- rip rap also has a layer of polypropylene geotextile installed underneath it! Neat!) Twin Rivers Paper Company has announced the sale of its mill in Pine Bluff, Arkansas to American Kraft Paper Industries, an affiliate of AIAC. The mill, which was established in 1956, is recognized as a producer of Bags and Sacks grades, fully integrated with both kraft and recycled fibers. While this might suggest a divestiture in the grade, it’s noteworthy that this site has a significantly higher carbon emission per ton of paper produced versus Twin Rivers’ Madawaska mill, when the same grade is compared. A Solution for PVC Cable Waste Legacy Additives Extraction Eric Romers from INEOS Inovyn's Project Circle presented key advancements in PVC recycling through dissolution technology, building on Vinyloop. At the lab scale, Project Circle has successfully extracted lead and cadmium from cables, ensuring full #REACH compliance. Additionally, legacy phthalates like DEHP/DOP, DBP, DIBP, and BBP were removed from flexible PVC applications, meeting the same regulatory standards. Two pilot plants at the Jemeppe-sur-Sambre R&D center have already confirmed the efficient extraction of these additives. The first industrial-scale dissolution technology plant is expected to be operational by 2030, a significant step toward achieving circularity in #PVC #recycling. INEOS Inovyn is also involved in: - Walloon consortium CIRCPVC, which supports the entire PVC recycling chain—from collecting PVC waste at construction and demolition sites to producing rPVC that is free of legacy additives. - Belgium’s national consortium DISSOLV, which is demonstrating the circularity of flexible PVC waste, such as flooring, carpets, and tarpaulins, and recycling all extracted additives.
