The Advanced Clean Fleet rule is important for the health of Californians, especially for those who live near freeways, warehouses, railyards and ports. It will help fleets reduce their pollution and transition to zero-emissions trucks. US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) must grant California's ACF waiver today!

FRIDAY LOOK BACK: "Of the many areas I am involved in, environmental protection is particularly close to my heart. A significant issue we face is the use of DDT in the rivers by fishermen, which makes catching fish easier but causes severe environmental damage. We organized a large group of fishermen from at least thirty villages along the Black Volta River. Last month, we held a forum that included these fishermen, the Paramount Chief and his sub-chiefs, government directors of the Environmental Protection Council for the area, and the police chiefs of the Bole and Kintampo districts. These are all the key players in enforcing the protection of our natural environment. This strategic meeting brought together all relevant stakeholders to address the problems and plan a united program to combat them. Ten people from various villages were chosen as monitors. These monitors will organize training sessions on the negative impact of harmful environmental practices and report anyone using banned chemicals in the rivers to the chiefs, police, and Environmental Protection Council. With this concerted effort from each body, we believe we will see improved health, and over time, a reversal of the damage done to the river and the fish population." ~ shared by Dr. David Mensah; April 1, 2004 #fridaylookback #environmentalprotection #sustainabledevelopment

On June 27, the U.S. Supreme Court temporarily halted the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) "Good Neighbor Plan," which aimed to reduce air pollution traveling across state lines. Ohio, Indiana, West Virginia, and other industry groups challenged the plan, claiming it overstepped state authority and imposed impractical standards on companies. The EPA's plan remains on hold pending resolution in the lower courts. Read our advisory to learn more: https://bit.ly/3LFXaxj #ArcherGreiner #CleanAir #SCOTUS #EnvironmentalLaw
