What does a low TBC or SPC in the raw milk tell us? A: It tells us that the farm is milking cows with clean and dry teats B: It tells us that the milk was cooled fast enough after milking the cows It is not a guarantee that the milking machine is cleaned well. Many farms achieve a TBC of <10,000 and have a LPC count of 100 - 1000, and / or elevated coliform counts. The bacteria included in the LPC count are much harder to eliminate during pasteurization and have a negative effect on the shelf life of dairy products.

Every dairy farmer's joy $$$$$. ● Meeting the milk quality standards and your milk is collected is every farmer's joy. ●Yes there are cases were the milk doesn't meet the quality standards and we drain it away and its painfull. ● Just imagine draining away 5000litres of milk because of poor quality. In some cases if a cow is being given antibiotics or still under treatment is milk accidentally into the tank all the milk in the milk tank is drained away, strict supervision must be done when milking sick cows at the end of the milking section. ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ ●To anyone not seeing the output of their efforts just know HARD WORK will always pay. You may not see it now but that day is coming. Looking for a quicker way to determine fat shortage or fat surplus in feed rations for dairy herds? Try our handy Fats Calculator 👉 https://lnkd.in/e4XimN6D It helps you identify whether the amount of fat in a ration meets the requirements of the cows in the herd. Or if the level of fat in the ration could be limiting the ability to reach a target level of production. #DairyFarming #DairyCowNutrition
