🌟 If you're engaged with project-based learning, then you'll definitely want to check out two of our recently published papers! I'm very pleased to share these open-access publications that provide new insights into project-based learning (PjBL) across universities in Australia and New Zealand. Our study analyses 66 units across 15 universities, involving comprehensive interviews with unit coordinators and industry partners. We've explored the current delivery methods, identified challenges, and discussed the scalability and sustainability of PjBL. Key issues such as workload management, student engagement, and the necessity for adequate resources are thoroughly addressed. Access the Papers: ✔️Project-based learning in Australian & New Zealand universities: current practice and challenges https://lnkd.in/eNNXTe8X ✔️Project-based learning in Australian & New Zealand universities: sustainability and scalability https://lnkd.in/e4EKhzen I am incredibly proud to be part of a fantastic research team of academics from five Australian universities Guien Miao Sarah Grundy (PhD Chemical Engineering) Iresha Ranaraja (PhD) Nick Brown Tom Goldfinch This work was supported by the Australian Council of Engineering Deans (ACED) and the Australasian Association for Engineering Education (AAEE). GrantsNow is designed to pinpoint the specific involvement of other Higher Education Institutes within your research projects. https://lnkd.in/dU2Brsef For instance, if your institute is sponsoring an internal project, GrantsNow can recognize other Higher Education Institute as an option via sub proposals, ensuring clear, accessible records for their contribution to the FEC or other costing models. Beyond this, our system leverages 'dynamic forms' capable of capturing additional data regarding other institute's project involvement, such as the role of collaborator, and more. By embodying the essence of adaptability, GrantsNow puts the focus where it belongs: on your institute's valuable contributions. https://lnkd.in/dmk-dE86

Excerpt from Talk Dr. Martin gave at Lawrence Academy on Jan 13, 2017: "...the decisions that happen in institutions are also based on relationships. Who we decide to give those great opportunities to. You know, that great project that likely if it goes well we'll get that promotion. We generally give those to people we have relationships with, that we trust or that we want to see succeed because we have a relationship with them." This semester at National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST), I had the chance to teach the first Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) course at NTUST – "International Sustainable Innovation Management." I co-taught this course with Markus Graf from Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences, and it was amazing to see Taiwanese, German, and international students connect in a truly global learning environment. 🚀 Here's what made the class so special: 🌐 Students got a low-pressure peek into different cultures and ways of learning while collaborating across borders in real-time. 🎤 We brought in fantastic guest speakers who added a rich, international dimension to our discussions. (Thanks Angelica Oung, Stefanie Eschenlohr, and Marcel Meins) 🌱 Students blew me away with their research on sustainable innovation – it was clear they were truly invested. 📚 There were challenges, of course – university red tape and time zones are no joke! But the rewards of teaching a groundbreaking class like this were huge. I wrote a blog post about those ups and downs, hoping to help other educators who are thinking about trying COIL for themselves. You can find it here Challenges and Rewards of Teaching a COIL Course (https://bit.ly/44Bncup). I'm excited to improve the course, maybe dive deeper into topics closer to my research, and just keep building these cross-cultural connections. If you want to know more about COIL, or you're thinking of trying it out, I'd love to chat! #COIL #InternationalEducation #OnlineLearning #HigherEd

CPULD alumni Yu Yang explained that “the concept of packaging is not well-known in Costa Rica, this motivated me to explore more about this field, and therefore, to pursue a degree in the CPULD program. After graduating from their program and being able to work in the industry, I realized that CPULD was a life-changing experience. The program that VT offers is complete and prepares the students with the necessary problem-solving skillsets. Moreover, the program is focused on designing efficient and effective packaging, always taking into account distribution through the supply chain and the sustainability of the environment." It’s a big day for course sharing! QM Quality Matters, in collaboration with Acadeum, has announced new quality assurance recognition for online course-sharing initiatives between colleges and universities.
