Building engaged, future-ready workforces through people strategy, career and skill development, and change management.
In my last post, I highlighted the divergent paths that my daughters are taking: one to a 4-year university and one to a technical (trade) school. Today the WSJ published this article stating that more GenZers are considering a trade, although their parents are not all on board. GenZ is not convinced that traditional university is worth the investment, and are exploring options that will reduce student loan debt, provide hands-on learning for a high-demand profession, and get them to work faster than a 4-year program. I love that young adults are exploring the options available to them, facilitated by high school exposure to a variety of programs, and making the decision that best suits them. And for those who pursue the 4-year university route, I have one word of advice: Internship! Article can be accessed via WSJ or Apple News subscription. #girlsinstem #girlsintech #techschool

🚀 **Day 1 at Matt Engineering Solutions: Hands-On Training Begins!** 🚀 Today marks the beginning of an exciting journey as I dive into hands-on training at Matt Engineering Solutions. For my first task, I was given the opportunity to create a basic form for undergraduate admissions. This experience not only helped me apply my existing knowledge but also allowed me to learn and grow in a real-world environment. Here's a quick overview of the form I created: **UG Admission Form Highlights:** - **Personal Information:** Name, Date of Birth, Contact Details - **Academic Details:** Previous Education, Grades, Certifications - **Course Selection:** Desired Course, Specialization - **Additional Information:** Extracurricular Activities, Personal Statement This task helped me understand the importance of user-friendly design and efficient data collection in the educational sector. I’m excited to continue this journey and tackle more challenges in the days to come! #Engineering #UGAdmissions #HandsOnTraining #MattEngineeringSolutions #LearningByDoing #CareerGrowth #FirstTask
