I am not sure what is more precious than time, and I want a lot of mine back. Since I can't, I am going to make the most of what I have!    For many years, I kept this cartoon on the back of my business cards. This image so clearly describes much of what I see in the business world, and in real life. We are all too busy, and most of us are too quick to tell everyone just how busy we are, leading us to miss out on many opportunities hiding behind the excuse.   I am pushing hard with NightVision because I see the same advantage for my customers that I see with the soldiers and leadership of this Middle Ages cartoon. NightVision saves huge amounts of time for #developers and #securityengineers. I hope some smart folks take a look.   Furthermore, I plan on listening to my own advice. My team is amazing at showing me helpful tips constantly. And honestly, I wish I listened more often.    My suggestion today is the same message this cartoon and the team gives: Listen to good ideas. It is fine to be critical, but smart to integrate tools that save time.    NightVision gives developers a whole lot of time back. Now, if only someone could find some new disks and cartilage for my neck - I am listening! #leadership #executiveadvice

One of the best things about strategy days is seeing how different parts of the business—engineering, sales, operations, R&D, design, and more—come together. It’s always surprising how people from completely different backgrounds can come together on key points and create a shared vision. It's all about bringing everyone's strengths to the table and working towards a common goal. This week, we had the privilege of joining our clients at PolyUnity Tech Inc for their strategy week. From refining the "why we exist" to setting goals for the next year and envisioning where they want to be in 100 years, the discussions were both deep and forward-thinking. We started connective3 in Oct 2019, a small team of of 8 people, 5 months before the first lockdown. During the lockdown period Netflix launched ‘The Last Dance’ a show focussed on Michael Jordan and the glory days of the Chicago Bulls. (I know a lot of people watched it, I was obsessed as a teenager and loved every minute) One of the principles that came out of it was ‘Winning as a Team’. I’ve spent many years around agencies and one thing I hate is teams pointing the finger at other teams. They’re not as valuable. They have it easier. They’re smaller, less significant or not as qualified. It’s truly toxic and the most effective way to throttle growth and success of the business. We’re not all the same, we bring different skills, experience and priorities to the workplace. The key is to use teams and people in the right areas. My role as CEO is to recognise these different skills and experience but more importantly to promote and champion the value they bring to the business and achieving the end goal. I’m not perfect and fail on occasion, but that’s how you win as a team, that’s how you give yourself the best chance of achieving your business goals. #leadership #agencysuccess
