As #JPM2024 wraps, I’m energized about the progress we’ve made in healthcare data and the challenges the industry is hustling to solve in 2024+. It was an honor to start the week on a dynamic panel, “Dealmaking with AI and Big Data,” joined by AI and data leaders in Life Sciences: Molly Gibson, Alec Nielsen, Lesley Stolz and Shafique Virani, MD FRCS and hosted by Megan Baca and Ropes & Gray LLP.   Healthcare generates ~30% of the world’s data and yet the majority is unusable today as it is fragmented, inconsistent, siloed, and unstructured. There are incredible and necessary efforts underway to make it more longitudinal, multimodal, diverse, and interoperable so that the data can be utilized to improve the discovery, development, distribution and delivery of medicine and drive better outcomes while preserving patient privacy.   At Sixth Street we’re thrilled to continue to partner with healthcare data and AI innovators including Datavant, ConcertAI, Caris Life Sciences, Merative, 1upHealth, Inc. and work with new founders and executives in 2024.
