Today we're at the FinTech North Leeds Conference, where Whitecap played a prominent role in the event including helping chair some of the sessions, as part of the opening session Director Julian Wells, presented the launch of the SuperTech WM Professional Services Technology (ProfTech) Research and Innovation Roadmap, standing in for Hilary Smyth-Allen. The roadmap, created from over 150 hours of consultation with industry leaders, academia, and ProfTech stakeholders, is the UK's first unified multi-year plan. It outlines coordinated initiatives across FinTech, PropTech, LegalTech, and InsurTech, setting the stage for future innovation and collaboration. Later in the agenda we shared our recent regional FinTech scaleup research findings, the unique study, born from the collective expertise of three organisations deeply embedded in the UK’s FinTech ecosystem, provides valuable insights into accelerating the growth of regional scaleups. Just returned from a great few days in Chicago at the excellent MoneyLIVE North America. Thanks for the the kind invite Salisa Britton and Jack S. to lead the workshop on the future of #embeddedfinance and share my perspectives. It was a really engaging session in an area there is much scope for innovation. Imagine solutions that are not just embedded but anticipatory! - thanks for the great insight from the industry professionals around the table who were so willing to share their views. Key opportunities? - Dynamic pricing models, Contextual financial services and cross subsidization models all scored high. There was a strong message on getting the journey frictionless and optimising the point of interaction - its not just about the checkout! Barriers to overcome? - Integration can be complex, particularly embedding financial services in to non financial platforms where security is not . Trust is everything and data flowing through these platforms needed securing - zero trust architecture is essential! A unanimous view was the importance of data to truly unlock the opportunity for embedded finance, be that enriching the existing data sources or bringing in new data to help hyper personalise - GIGO remains as important as ever!
